    Couldn't be bothered to get up for the game and so I have watched the highlights on a dodgy Youtube video and then read through 20 pages of VT. Thanks to you all I think I've come away with a pretty clear understanding on how we are set for the season.

    The kit was due to be released at 3.30pm UK time. It moved back to 4.00pm UK time instead and was released on time. The rumours were Luiz would be announced with the away kit but it doesn't seem to have materialized.

    For anyone that has ordered a shirt and not received confirmation, I ordered mine last Thursday and didn't receive the confirmation email until yesterday. It will have still gone through I believe.

    The Houllier stuff surprised me, I was always under the impression that if Houllier had remained at the helm for a few seasons we would have stabilized. Just shows you never know what's going on behind the scenes.

    Great signing this, he will slot straight in at defensive midfield and looks to be the exact player we have been looking for. Even if we get one, possibly two seasons out of him and remain in the PL then it will have been worth it. I imagine the deal also benefits us financially in some way, so a buyback of £25+ million allows us to replace him when he eventually goes back to Man City. For those complaining about the deal & about the fact it’s essentially a loan, it’s doubtful we could bring in a player of Luiz’s talents on a permanent due to financial restraints. This is the next best option. Interested to see if Phillips still comes in. Although Spurs now look interested.

    Wouldn’t want Edwards or Crowley. We have a young winger to develop in Andre Green, we need to bring someone in to be ready to start and compete in the RW position from the off. Potentially we later have a chance to bring in a younger winger to develop as well. But primarily we need a starting winger to bring in goals and assists from the start of the season in line with El Ghazi. The rumours on Twitter imply that we have bid around €11 million for Trezeguet today.

    If Konsa is level with Tuanzebe and only costing us 12 Million he could become the bargain of the season!

    Very happy with Konsa, he’s a good young player in the same mould as Tuanzebe. Another player who could potentially have an England future. We are now able to mould our own player, it must have become obvious that Tuanzebe wasn’t available and we don’t have time to wait until the end of the window. A centre back lineup of Mings, Chester, Konsa and Hause is solid. I would expect to see Mings and Chester start unless Hause or Konsa play very well during pre-season. As for still bringing in Cahill, not a chance. We don’t need him and it would be a waste of money. John Terry has all the experience we need on the training pitch, and that is where Konsa will need working on. On the pitch Cahill would oust Mings who Konsa will play alongside at some point. Nice to see we have gone for targets like Webster and moved on when we have been priced out. It’s a warning shot fired at Phillips, Butland and Benrahma.
