  1. Ridiculous decision that, Hamilton should have had to give the place back. The other way round and Max would have had to give it back. Saying all of that, this Mercedes car is just too quick for the Red Bull now.
  2. No need to apologise, the work you do for VT is massively appreciated. When you look at the questions we are now asking as a whole, compared to questions we were having to raise under previous tenures we are worlds away.
  3. Wish I had seen this thread last month... the clock in the Holte End Upper hasn't been working for about two years and it's doing my head in.
  4. I haven't finished reading this yet, but that Southgate question was pretty embarrassing. I'm glad the club answered it in that way.
  5. First we had biscuit shins, now we've got quaver quads...
  6. Took Raphina out for Son 5 minutes before the deadline. Properly annoying, been having a good season so far. Feel like this is the GW that my season unravels on.
  7. Thanks, I've just sat and watched this and it's brilliant.
  8. Great again yesterday; he's like our own version of James Milner, Mr Versatile. What I love the most about him is how he get's straight into the referee after almost every decision. It's something he's obviously picked up at United but it's something we lack at times.
  9. I would imagine a lot of this is to do with his agent. He most likely wants to sign a new deal with Villa, but if we are offering say 10k per week, but the longer he holds out and has other offers come in the more likely he will be to get say 15k. It's a ploy used a lot in football. The problem is it may come at the detriment of his first team opportunities this season. There's no doubt about it he's a talented player, but right now he's not Premier League ready. He could do with filling out a little bit more, and easing his way into the first team. This season is the start of that for him.
  10. Thought his first touch really let him down yesterday. It's strange because once he nails his first touch and controls the ball it's quite difficult to get it off him and he drives up the pitch well. On the ball yesterday he was very good, could probably been a bit stronger with some of the challenges against him in the penalty area. I have no doubts it was a one match blip and he'll be back firing.
  11. Yeh I agree with that; I would imagine that will be on the radar in the Summer though. I know many are hoping that Kesler could be the answer to that problem; and I imagine the club see that as a huge step in their academy to first team plan.
  12. The only thing that disappoints me is that there will be an emphasis on hospitality within the rebuild. It is probably one for The Games Gone; and I understand that hospitality is a huge money spinner in modern football; but I would imagine that a large portion of the 20,000 on the waiting list are looking for standard seating in the stadium. Football for the working class and all that...
  13. For me the priority in January is now a left back and a central midfielder. I would say we now have the luxury of not having to bring in anyone if we can't find someone who fits. We don't need to rush into making a panic buy if they aren't the perfect player for the team. As brutal as it is we now have to start upgrading the first team one piece at a time. Targett could do with some competition at left back, and we should be looking at buying a player better than him. Central midfield is then another area where we could do with a real quality defensive midfielder. The tough part of the next few windows will be selling players; we need to start selling players for profit to become the sustainable football club our owners have talked about since buying the club.
  14. Marvelous is a player who needs the system to suit him in order to get the best out of him. Under Gerrard the team is a lot more compact, the wingers and the midfield move back to help when the opposition breaks. This is now allowing Nakamba to win the ball and lay it off to another player almost immediately. Passing is his weakness, when you ask him to distribute difficult long range passes from the back he struggles, but quick simple layoffs suit him. Yesterday he was superb, and it showed how he should be utilised. His main asset is his ability to intercept and relentlessly track back and disrupt the attacking players. Granted we could go out and buy better, but right now we should be trying to grow Nakamba as a player to extend both his value and the period he can be a useful Villa player. Against City I would play both Luiz and Nakamba in the deep role with McGinn ahead of them.
  15. Somehow I've never watched The Wire despite the reviews and the amount of people on here who have recommended it. Two weeks ago I decided to give it a go; I'm now currently halfway through season 2. What a show! It took me about 4 episodes to get into it but now I'm hooked. Would highly recommend if there is anyone left who hasn't seen it either.
  16. I really want Bissouma but he's currently on bail for the alleged offence so it would be pretty daft to sign him before a verdict is reached. A DM is badly needed in January though, someone who can release players like McGinn, Luiz and Ramsey further forward. I would also look for a left back to replace / compete with Targett. As someone else mentioned we need to look at selling some players in January or the Summer window. We are now on to the next stage of the rebuild, selling players for increased value and improving the quality of our first team.
  17. Offload him? Is this a joke? Why don't we start delivering him some service so we can get the best out of him? It's been a tough start to the season, the team have been out of form, pre-season was all over the place, we've had a change of manager and Ings has missed some games due to injury. A bit of stability at the club, and a change of playing style to get the best out of him and we'll see Ings bagging goals like he did for Southampton.
  18. I think we'll start to see the best of him in the next month or two. He's come into an unsettled side, poor performances from the team haven't helped him; nor has his lack of fitness. Once we get bit of stability, performances pick up & players get fitter, Buendia will come into his own.
  19. I would quite like it if they restructured Warzone to be Warzone 2. The new Caldera map would then be there and the only guns would be from the Vanguard selection. Everything else (bar possibly skins) is reset and everyone starts fresh.
  20. I heard he was at Villa Park pinging balls into the top corner in front of the Holte End whilst screaming 'GERRARRRRDDDD' at the top of his lungs. I shouldn't reveal my source but my friends wife knows a first team player that isn't currently playing for the first team but will play for them one day.
  21. Villa Report, not to be believed, some of the stuff that account makes up is unbelievable. Take it with a pinch of salt.
  22. To be fair Graham Potter has grown a beard in preparation for this role. He know's how much VT loves a bearded hero.
  23. It's a bit early to be saying that we have sacked a manager with no plan in place for a replacement. I imagine the club have shortlisted some names, probably reached out to them, and will now look to interview them and work out which is the right man for the job.
  24. Apologies to those in this forum that are intent on talking down Grealish; but he's doing fine at City. It will probably take him the first full season to get used to playing under Pep and with better players at City. I imagine he will come into his own over the Christmas period and in the New Year.
  25. Your doing yourself an injustice here, he ended the GW with 3 points on TC! I did the same and still regularly think about it.
