  1. They way I look at it, it's 40 million plus a huge wage. In return you get an outstanding talent for the next 3 to 4 years. But what that also buys you is an increased performance level of players around him. Your essentially paying the money to get another 10-20% out of the players who he is linking up with, carrying the ball for, drawing fouls for. There's absolutely no doubt the reason for our upturn in our form is in direct correlation with Coutinho's fitness improving and his role in the team being cemented.
  2. I was the same mate, I had almost given up then just chanced it walking into GAME and they had a few available. Best thing to do is when GAME release stock online just go into your local store and ask if they have a few. Also follow @PS5StockAlertUK on Twitter with notifications on, they are pretty on the ball with stock releases.
  3. Give the lad a rest on Thursday, give Sanson a chance to show what he can do. Then bring Ramsey back in on Sunday against West Ham.
  4. Is it a hard game? I normally get through games on the normal difficulty level, but never exceed it. Is this one tougher than most? I find that if a game is too hard I lose interest pretty quick.
  5. Very good today, reminded me of the Aston Villa Jack Grealish.
  6. I said this yesterday. Coutinho instead of Barkley and we would probably have qualified for Europe. Pretty unlikely Coutinho would have joined us off the back of the 2019/20 season though!
  7. I actually think Keinan Davis is brilliant footballer. Everytime I've watched him this season he's been one of the best players on the pitch. His hold up play is fantastic, and he's a lot more skilful than he looks. No he's not the goalscoring striker that everyone craves, but what he does is links up the play, creates situations and holds the ball up for the team. It's what Heskey used to do for England and Liverpool, it's what Firminho does to an extent for Liverpool now. If you can get the quality around him, he can be the player that brings it all together. For me we could do with a player like Keinan right now, with Buendia and Coutinho playing off him; with Bailey, Watkins and Ings as options to feed off him. It's exactly what we have missed recently with balls bouncing off our strikers shins.
  8. Came over to the away fans at the end of the game and threw his shirt into the crowd. Looked thoroughly (and quite rightfully) pissed off. He's been our best player of late, and didn't really deserve to be dropped or not brought on instead of Young. Saying all of that, 3 points is 3 points at this stage of the season.
  9. His best game in weeks, and it's no coincidence that it was the game he played in the middle of the park and didn't have to cover for his full back.
  10. I was surprised in the away end yesterday when Tim came on, physically he looks like he's ready for PL football. He actually had the same build as Bissouma who was playing in the same role for Brighton yesterday. His composure on the ball was fantastic, and he looked as though he could hold his own. I really wouldn't be against giving him a start next weekend.
  11. Personally thought he was terrible yesterday. He showed absolutely no composure on the ball, giving it away multiple times; and off the ball he is just too weak with his challenges. As I have always said, I think he can offer us something in the number 8 role; but he's not good enough in the 6. Iroegbunam looks ideal for the DM role for me, and surprised with his build and composure when he came on.
  12. Brilliant again yesterday, his assist for the goal was superb. He also absolutely loved it at the end of the game, spent some time celebrating in front of us in the away end, and before leaving the pitch by the dugouts. A proper leader.
  13. Finally got myself a PS5! First Horizon to finish, then onto the new one. Elden Ring looks incredible though.
  14. This is the way I see it, and the way that I think will fix our current problems. Right now we have two wings backs who are attacking at the same time. Digne and Cash go forward, McGinn and Ramsey drop into the full back space; leaving Luiz to look after the midfield alone. Often Luiz pushes on to help with the attack leaving the midfield exposed. Against Brighton I would take Luiz out, and play Chambers at DM. Drill into the wing backs that they can't both go forward at the same time, they can push on a little, but they have to be able to defend the full back position. Now when Digne goes forward, Mings covers the left full back area, Chambers drops in to CB and Konsa/Cash cover the right hand side. McGinn and Ramsey are now free to look after the midfield with one of them able to push a little further forward to help with possesion. This is exactly how Man City and Liverpool play, and it's something that is currently leaving us exposed. Chambers at DM isn't a long term option, but it will improve the way the team unit performs until Nakamba is back fit, and we can buy a dedicated player in the Summer.
  15. I just don't get why we are playing a formation where you allow your full backs to get forward, and then ask your two centre midfielders to move to full back to cover. It completely limits Ramsey and McGinn who have the ability to drive forward for us, but are being asked to defend. And the substitutes... christ...
  16. Finished Landscapers tonight. Really good, I had never heard the story before. It's done in a very strange way, but it works.
  17. I remember James Milner's last game for Villa when he scored against West Ham. It always sticks in my mind how he was booed at the start of the game then took a standing ovation as he was subbed off the pitch. Strangely Henri Lansbury's debut is another I remember, I genuinely thought we'd signed the midfielder we had always been looking for. Some of his long range passing in that game blew me away. It didn't last...
  18. Very strange read these last few pages... I highly doubt Grealish is on the packet every weekend, he would have been banned by now and it would have made the headlines. Maybe he's done a bit at some point, but tainting him as a drug addict seems over the top. I also highly doubt he's the alcoholic that some of our fans seem to think. He's a young lad who likes to go out, party and have a few beers; it's what young lads up and down the country enjoy. The problem for him is that he's a professional footballer and he has to be sensible with it, something that he seems to be struggling with now he is in Manchester and a £100 million footballers who is constantly in the papers. I agree with the fact that this deal has worked out very well for us, it effectively dropped us back a few years in our timeline but then the club's business has propelled us back forward a few years as well. I would say the club is now in the same position we were in last season. With Jack's latest injury, if it keeps him out for a while, it looks even better business by us.
  19. Morgan Sanson should get a chance because he's a very good midfielder that we paid money for. He's a player that should be able to come in and do a job from the off, although a run of games will help him and is what he has missed since joining. Carney is a young player who needs to be slowly introduced to the team, like Ramsey was last season.
  20. We are a mess defensively at the moment, and it all stems from one place. Not Tyrone Mings... but the lack of a defensive midfielder. It's an issue we have had for years now. Douglas Luiz is just not a defensive midfielder, and it's putting excessive pressure on the back four. Some of the untracked runs from Leeds midfield last night were an absolute joke, and they pulled our back four all over the place. The time they had on the ball in the centre midfield as well allowed them to pick out passes and runs which we couldn't deal with. There's no doubt that Mings could have done better for the three goals, he'll know that himself. But he also cleared a few off the line and barely a word is said about those. Konsa next to him was poor last night, the second goal is partly on him as well. The cross should never have been played into the box so easily, and it stemmed from Ezri stopping and not closing the player down. Unfortunately we defended poorly as a unit last night, and that's the reason we conceded three goals, not due to a single individual.
  21. Yeh I think you pretty much summed up his performance last night. Alfie May didn't seem to pass to Ramsey much first half, but second half they linked up well. Cheltenham were better when Wright came on and Ramsey was then able to get into the game more. He looks like Jacob Ramsey did a few seasons ago at the moment, he needs to bulk up slightly and get some games under his belt; the footballing potential is all there with nice touches and driving runs at times. Another loan next season would benefit him massively, after learning a lot from this loan spell.
  22. I'm watching this tonight, I'll keep you updated.
  23. I'm waiting to get my hands on one as well. Had enough of the Xbox Series X so going to change. I've heard there will be restocks this week, likely tomorrow or Wednesday at most UK Stores.
  24. I can genuinely see him being an option for us next season. There has been games this season where we've needed a target man up front, the Man U game a few weeks ago and the Chelsea game on Boxing Day we couldn't hold the ball up front, everything bouncing off Watkins. Keinan Davis could be a different option for us. Obviously the problem is we already have Ings and Watkins, with Archer coming through nicely.

    Louie Barry

I've always thought that Barry is a long way from first team football yet, but that's not to say he won't make it at all. Last year there were calls for him to play for the first team, and for me they were way off the mark. He's at least two years away from the first team at Villa in my opinion, he needs to mature and grow into a man physically first. Luckily football wise he has all of the attributes he needs, and this loan will be a big learning curve for him as a part of a first team.
