Watching his first goal back, he had opportunity to pass either way, and I think many would have. **** that, Imma do this myself - Twist, turn, hit the ****. Superb. And he definitely meant the second too. Definitely.

    China

Those of you that work, or have worked, in China - What do you do if you don't mind me asking? There have been a few opportunities to work in APAC through my current employer, and I'm quite tempted, but it's not really a world I've ever ventured into before.

I don't think it's necessarily that he hits the ball well, some of his shots have landed in Stafford at times, but it's how direct he is, when he gets that ball, he only has one thing in his mind, and that's rip the **** net off. Love it.
  4. I've been a huge critic of him and today I realised why. When he's on it, he can be unplayable, but there's so much about his game that needs to be addressed. There's times when he looks scared to take a man on, looks clumsy, terrible touch, and it's usually when he's got no space to run in to. You give him a few yards, and he's a different prospect, lively, direct, looks like he wants to beat a defender. I want him to come good but so far, I'm a bit disappointed. Tonight was better, much better, but not without fault.
  5. Thought he had some great moments tonight but also think he's absolutely run out of juice now, a few moments where he looked a bit leggy, altho to be expected I guess.
  6. Recognise nearly all those photos - As a young lad, very nice memories of getting pissed by the river. More recent experiences have unfortunately been tarnished by what I can only describe as "pricks from Kiddy". Shame, so many lovely pockets around there, both sides of the river.

I pray for Nor-Cal. That's heat to make a cactus welp.

I can safely say you're not Ginger in that climate. Jeeeez.
  9. Recently discovered the Under The Cosh podcast - Really enjoying it, some great interviews and both long and short episodes to enjoy. Also a massive fan of the Upshot and Price of Football podcast. Anyone recommend any others? I don't mind if it's tactical analysis, behind the scenes scandal, anything that's not a gossip column. Thanks crew.
  10. Never done acid, did DMT once (without realising what it was) - That experience bent my head in half and scared the living shit out of me. The thought of tripping always appealled but not after that. I can still hear the song that was playing and see the Hagley Road as it turned into a vivid purple water rapids and my car turned into a little rowing boat. Had to 'paddle' to what was Oddbins at the time and chill out for 20 minutes. Mental.

Oh, I've found your account Uncle Ian
  12. Like Harry Potter with that left peg, couldn't ever dislike him. What a man.
  13. Replies taken, understood and accepted. What Unai has done is incredible, BUT we're also in a league where Chelsea, United and Spurs have been pap. I'm not cussing us AT ALL. But I am saying next season could be very difficult because those other teams aren't gonna settle for the mighty Villa pipping them to the post. It's a compliment to our current position, with a cautious nod to next season.
  14. Appreciate your opinion, appreciate your view on your own opinion. Thank you Chris
  15. I know it's nostalgia, I know he's never make the cut at this level, but that moment was a peak that I'll never forget.
  16. We turning on one of best players this season because an established player might be back in the fold next season? Nope, I'd have a squad with both of them beautiful bastards in all day every day. They're different players, but both have attributes that we should be utilising.
  17. Ever so slightly before my time, but without doubt the most romanticised era in our history. That photo is glorious.
  18. I'm in the minority this season, and I'm sound about that, but (BIG but, ooer) - I think we've been lucky that so many other 'top 4' teams have been shit this season. I'm taking absolutely nothing from Unai, not a single thing, the man is a legend and I can't believe where we're at this season BUT I think next season might be a lot more difficult, because I'd be amazed if Spurs, Chelsea, United or Newcastle are gonna sit back and watch the Villa Lion roar again. But also, Unai 4eva #loveheart #buildstatue #emerythelegend #heeatspaellahedrinksestrellahelovesthevilla
  19. Granted. Is Bad Diaby better than Unproven Rogers, or Injured Ramsey or Buendia? Because, if I had to pick, right now, he's not in that top 3. Stats are sound. Performances have been dog, I'm not sure why we're defending £45m on a player that hasn't had one good 90 minutes yet. Adjust and adapt. yes that's fine, but stop being so petulant, stop making terrible decisions. Do the basics right. No one is asking for 20 goals, they're asking for him to track back, work harder, make better passes. Each of the other three mentioned above manage it. I want him to come good, but right now I'm struggling to see what he offers us.
  20. I'm not entirely sure where this comes from. He used to be the one player in the team that crossed too often and every one of them went for a throw. He's allowed to turn back inside and start again, but also I think he's actually very direct in the final third. Almost (and correct me if I'm wrong) feels like we're comparing him against Moreno who, IMO, is sometimes TOO direct. Not a criticism of either, but both are better going forward than Konsa, he hits half way and loses his head. (Again not a criticism, he's not a wing back).
  21. Thank you, appreciate that. Is that a view that's generally well held across all spectrums? (again, genuine Q)
  22. Well, this is a vote for the Aldi ones, because for value, they were superb. I'll try Lidl next time too.
  23. Fair mate, in that case you've got another top man who travels from Germany if you ever want a travel partner, I just have no idea who he is
  24. It feels like it's been like that for a while, even when Broady was firing. They were both the players to turn it around, but I think age has finally caught them both out sadly. I don't really follow it as much as I should, who's next in line as the pace bowlers?
