  1. Really stupid isn't it. It's not rocket science that someone people may have a particular diet for health or ethical reasons but still prefer the taste of meat to a massive chunk of unflavoured tofu. Also, with the 'looking like' meat bollocks, it's not like any of these people would actually be able to identify a cut of meat on an animal. Is the counter-argument "if you love eating dead animals so much, why would you take the cuts off so it can't even be identified as a corpse?". It makes me chuckle when you see comments like 'a REAL MAN should eat meet'. I mean, seriously, how insecure are some people in their masculinity. Maybe they actually want to **** animals and they're trying to prove they don't by posting pictures of hunting trophies etc on anything that mentions a non-meat diet. p.s. tried the vegan sausage roll at Greggs for the first time the other day. Definitely better than the meat one (particularly texture), but I was slightly underwhelmed as it has been SO built up.
  2. @HanoiVillan I know a British guy called Christian Holiday, which I always found quite amusing.
  3. Just read back and I'm amazed how many people rated Wilder's chances so highly. Of course he could always land one and put him down, but people seem to forget when Fury beat him on points (notwithstanding broken calculators) his preparation from his last big fight was falling to addiction, getting banned from fighting and eventually on his way back having to lose 10 stone and fighting a few binmen for fitness.
  4. I think that game kills us. I tend to be overly optimistic and have just had all remaining hope sucked out of me. Can't see much of an atmosphere at games for the rest of the season.
  5. I'm with you and it's gutting to feel that way before the day. I might go if they were cheap tickets, but they're pricey ones and I'll have to buy 2 if I want someone to come with me as I doubt any of my mates will fancy forking out over £100 for a ticket to watch this shite.
  6. I've been offered tickets for the league cup final. Think I'm going to decline.
  7. No it doesn't. Conceding that many shots does and is indefensible but to claim we normally only have a couple of shots is risible.
  8. I'm sure he's a nice guy but watching Trezeguet play I can't help but have a visceral dislike of him.
  9. And you asked someone else whether they're a Villa fan for being gutted we'll lose him
  10. It's been an issue all season. You can guarantee we wont ever win the ball when it's scrappy and bobbling around. Drives me mad.
  11. Guilbert is getting rinsed and Luiz is yet again completely anonymous and letting the ball roll half a metre past him without trying to pick it up. Elmo at half time and give Luiz 10mins to get in the game before he gets **** off for Hourihane.
  12. Have you seen many concussions? £20 to VT says that was not a concussion. Unfortunately I'll probably lose the bet either way as they'll have to come up with something to make it less embarrassing.
  13. Where has he said this? I guess in the AGM but I can’t find any quotes!
  14. How many of those 25 were actually liquidated though? There might have only been two teams go into admin in the last seven years but one of these no longer exists. It wouldn’t matter if 60 clubs went into administration as long as they all came out the other end and continued to exist.
  15. Do you actually think all those are article about Sheffield Utd games? I just tried it and the relevant links only went to the end of page two on Google. Looks like he does say it a lot but seems you can discount [2mill - 20] of those.
  16. Bit of a cliche. I’d trumpet fart jokes personally, but each to their own. I think Drinkwater is more disciplined than any of our other midfielders and closes off space well. I think Luiz has played better with Drinkwater in midfield next to him (so far). Unfortunately that doesn’t help when he’s so far off the pace and I do worry he won’t have time to get up to speed and make a positive impact. Can’t wait for McGinn to come back. The sarcasm was because I’d literally just read another post where you made the insinuation we lost because ‘Smith is a dipshit’ and I don’t agree. Baston was weird, but we didn’t have options. I thought we were very naive individually which cost us and I’m not sure what else I’d have done in the day.
  17. You should let him know where he’s going wrong. Frankly it’s quite selfish for you to confine your superior intellect to this website.
  18. Tell your soldiers to stand down boys. I’m afraid if I was a female it would not be attractive. I just used spinster because bachelor has connotations of an old homosexual.
  19. I just don’t buy the championship argument as relevant in this instance. Maybe if they aren’t in demand, but I think a few teams would snap him up if available for £60m or less. I’m not sure any of those had more than one club bidding for them at the time.
  20. **** that. If a seat in front of me is hanging over my lower half I can’t stand straight up without something to balance me. A combination of your choice to recline and my pettiness is what causes me to use your chaired leverage rather than my armrest. No excuse for people who walk along the aisle aggressively manhandling seats.
  21. Oh absolutely. It’s way too arbitrary to use to place a specific figure on a player. I do think we can use it as a bottom (or top) line though ie if he’s better than 10 players that went for £30-£40m in this season it stands to reason he’s worth at least £40m. That could obviously mean he’s worth £40,000,001 or £200m.
  22. The transfers I used as examples are all from this season so no adjustment required to reflect the market.
  23. Really?! That buys you: 1 Alex Iwobi almost 1 Joelinton 60% of a Cancelo 1 Bakayako (after 2 years of underperformance) Not quite 1 Lo Celso Just over 1 Ryan Sessegnon Just over 1 Kieran Trippier 1/2 a Harry Maguire 70% of an Aston Wan Bissaka 1 Seb Haller I think you’re being incredibly conservative.
  24. It also included this in the example of dysfunctional relationships: ”Cameron and Osborne were so tight that No 10 never challenged
No 11.” Which seems to be exactly what they want to replicate.
