  1. Good measures for the leisure industry. Didn’t really listen to the rest of it.
  2. I feel a bit bad now as my post was parody and you’ve come back with a really detailed well-thought out response!
  3. These last few years have shown me there’s lots of stuff I’d generally find amusing that when done by world leaders is downright depressing.
  4. Don’t worry, we’re all likely to forgive stereotyping from Australians as we understand your racism is genetically ingrained.
  5. I’m excited to see how he develops. Shame we lose half a season just as we finally get a lot of our youth players out on loan. My only concern is he isn’t quite good looking enough to make me confident he’ll succeed.
  6. @flashingqwerty my point, which you conveniently ignore, was simply querying that an abundance of CMs were signed by PL clubs in January as it didn’t sound right to me. But yeah, I don’t actually disagree with the substance of anything you said.
  7. @flashingqwerty looking at the first 5 there is Fernandes, then 4 that the ‘signing’ was returning from loan. There are a couple more than I initially thought, but once you strip out those returning from loan, ones that aren’t going to be near first teams for a few years and existing line made permanent there are far fewer.
  8. But you can see the difference between working for a health organisation and being a political appointee, right? Obviously you have to exercise judgement when reading anything (this isn’t exclusive to Twitter), but I’d think it’s far more likely that an expert appointed by the government has reason to mislead than someone working for The WHO or an equivalent organisation.
  9. If I were to tweet a quote by an expert in the field would the credibility of the original statement be hurt just because some clueless dickhead posted it?
  10. Were there?! Excluding both loans that ended or were made permanent as signings it only looks like 5 or so.
  11. A Japanese man has apparently tested positive for a second time after being cleared a few weeks ago. Not enough info to draw conclusions from yet, but if it does prove true it isn’t great news.
  12. Why do people need petrol if they’re confined to their homes?
  13. Both my parents are early 50s and unlikely to survive if they catch it. I do feel slightly better now I know the species will survive if they both die, so thanks for that.
  14. @tonyh29 I don't have anything better to do. Also from the same article: Prof Deenan Pillay, professor of virology, University College London Dr Jennifer Rohn, cell biologist, University College London Prof Paul Hunter, professor in medicine, Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia Prof John Ashton, former regional director of public health for north-west England So, while 3 out of 4 might agree with some measures taken (or not), they all have concerns about how it has been handled.
  15. I don’t think they’d really care as, with City banned from Europe next season, they would still qualify for CL.
  16. Or, mad as it sounds, not everyone has £1000 to piss away on an internet dick swinging competition even if the odds of losing it are relatively low.
  17. @LondonVillain I hate to break it to you, but this is very simple stuff that even mere laypeople can understand without being a qualified accountant.
  18. @HanoiVillan I saw that on the BBC yesterday and found it incredibly depressing. I was also reading the other day about white tigers, something I knew nothing about but is very interesting. I had no idea they all stem from one cub captured by a hunter in the 50s. There are severe health issues due to inbreeding as the 3rd cub was bred between parent and offspring. Only 1 in 30 are born pure white with the rest likely to be killed. People are **** up.
  19. As opposed to the rest of our squad?
  20. I know lots will disagree but I'd have played him a lot more. My main frustration with the likes of Trezeguet is how cheaply he loses the ball - sure he runs quicker than Jota...just unfortunate it's normally straight into the opposition. Ball retention is towards the top of my long list of things we need to do far better.
  21. Jota seems* like the most mild mannered bloke around. What a prick. *from a very small sample size
  22. I expect they’ll change that to prioritise the elderly as the higher bed turnover rate will give a much better chance to pad the numbers of patients “treated”.
  23. I think you’ve been misinformed. I read hypochondriacs have a way higher death rate.
