  1. There's lots of ways to 'defend' though. It's too simplistic to see it as one v one, winning tackles and headers etc which I assume this references. From what I've seen from him, he seems to do that pretty well anyway. If his pace means we play the high line even more effectively and he can catch runners more effectively, our defence improves. If his passes can play through the lines instead of cutting back the majority of times, building up the pitch, our defending improves as we aren't turned over as easily. If we keep possession higher up the pitch whilst having an added element of playing through balls from FB as well, our defending improves as opposition can't make a plan to target and pressure the out ball from RB. People were saying Pau wasn't very good at defending. I'd rather have him in the team than not. This could be the case with KKH over Cash.
  2. I think Sabre was my favourite, not sure why. Possibly because she was really good at hang tough
  3. The colours look great together on that imo. Nice deep claret and the blue feels less washed out than previously. Although, that may just be the claret doing the work there.) The gold lion with added detail is a really nice touch...but I'm interested in how that would replicate on the cheaper training wear and leisurewear.
  4. Remember when we were all trying to decide if this was accidental or not Mad bastard could do it backwards in his sleep.
  5. I actually think Adidas are more likely to deliver a shirt that strays away from the norm as they back themselves to be a success. Castore, Kappa, Luke, all needed to stay conservative as they probably knew we were expecting them to make a balls up. Claret body, blue sleeves are likely...but I wouldn't be surprised if there was an element that we haven't seen before to let us know they are 'here'.
  6. Great goal, still a word removed.
  7. Similarly to the Ben Mee red card non-decision, the ref in the Boro match could not have been better placed to see the Moreno penalty. Absolutely perfect, textbook position. His assessors would be proud. So how the hell he so confidently dismissed any claim out of hand is bizarre.
  8. I think he's 'done a job' for us up until this point. Filling in on the left for Ramsey has seen him put in competent performances without being eye-catching. I think if he manages to have a run of games on the right in his more natural position, we may see more output.
  9. It's become so predictable now. Re: the haircut... just before the Ings bicycle kick against Newcastle, I think the wet weather exposed why he has to have it long brushed backwards. #TransplantIncoming It was hilarious hearing the whole crowd take a sharp intake of breath at the same time when it flashed up on screen
  10. He strikes the ball very well and, most importantly, hit the target with both of them.
  11. It's where I hope Tielemans and Zaniolo show us what they can do in that respect.
  12. We need a RB who can work with intricate one-twos and play a ball through the lines. Cash is doing his best Neil Taylor impression of cutting back every single time he gets the ball. He did hit a couple of glorious crossfields to Moreno though that were In terms of beating the low block, again, we created enough chances to get a couple of goals: Moreno penalty Diaby's miskick from in front of goal Konsa's header onto the post Moreno's volley McGinn and Zaniolo long range efforts. It seems we're not converting well enough at the minute. Against teams with a low block, it's easy to say we need a number 10 to 'pick the lock', but in reality you'll never have a tonne of chances against two defensive banks...you just have to take them when they occur.
  13. He's modelling for the new badge. Keeps turning the wrong way though.
  14. Forest will be in for a punishment for breaking loan rules then, right?
  15. I give you 22 year old LB Gaston Avila of Ajax....
  16. I think the yard that you speak of will be the reaction time that comes with match sharpness. The fudged clearance at Brentford is a classic example.
  17. Saw this knock up on social media earlier. Sounds like we can discount any round options so I would be pretty happy with this as a shield alternative.
  18. Surely a double-handed push in the back has got to be a foul? A situation where there is a bit of jostling, such as a shoulder-to-shoulder, I'm fully with you on. I think both players have the chance to be able to 'hold their ground'....but you can't have someone standing behind someone else and shoving them two handed in the back.
  19. We've been spammed with long balls over the top by every team we've played. It doesn't work because we are so good at the high line. Sometimes it feels like it's working against us for it to only be called offside. United didn't get any goals from it either. I'm unsure if any teams really have except a couple in the European games. United's goals came from us giving them the ball each time and being caught out of shape. THAT is the thing we really need to work on. Emery will know that...and he will be holding the players accountable for it.

The cross field pass that smashed Luiz in the chest was certainly something
  21. Pau, Tielemans, and Kamara all missing took a huge chunk out of our passing ability through midfield. There's probably only Konsa and Luiz who started who are as reliable as those three. As @DJBOB said, United prospered because of us giving them the ball back so regularly and then having no impact with the challenges/press. United actually played some really good football at times to their credit, but it was often after we had given them the ball back cheaply. We were never going to stop their momentum by doing that.
  22. Really wish he had got a shot in when he turned the defender on the edge of the box and had acres of space on his left foot. Very strange decision to cut inside into players and on his right.
  23. Did a respectable job with the ball when he came on last night. Some nice passes through the lines and a nice turn at one point. Clear to see he wasn't as forthcoming in offering for a pass off the defence like Kamara and Luiz though. It was the same with Dendonker. They didn't 'hide' from the ball, just didn't take up natural positions to collect of the defence.
