  1. Whilst i hate the notion of playing players our of position. With Elmo RB and Hutton LB we look a LOT more balanced. Against Derby when Elmo came on, he changed the game as much a Bolasie. Taylor is completely ineffective and actually looks afraid of making a tackle! The main priority is to buy a CB (we desperately need cover), if there's any more cash lying around second priority is a LB. Still such a shame we missed out on Bryan who's currently enjoying a wooden bench at Craven Cottage.
  2. DS said on BBC WM he didn’t risk him today, but should be ok for weds
  3. Still feel if we can be in touching distance (8-10 points) after this run of awful games, we have a chance of automatic promotion. After Boxing Day we have 7 bottom half teams and Sheffield Utd at home. All winnable. Playoffs are realistic but I wouldn’t rule out 2nd.
  4. Great point on gate reduction. As Sky play all mid-week games, we are regularly down around 10k. Affectively the big club is losing £200k every mid week home match. Latest Sat attendances Sheff Wed 35k Swansea 41k Small Heath - 42/43k sell out. Tuesday/Wednesday Attendances Preston - 27k Rotherham - 27k Bolton - 30k
  5. I'll get some sent this week. Adult L and XL though if thats OK
  6. Can you still relocate full season tickets during this time?
  7. Agreed, but i can't see a top 6 club wanting him yet. That said, if we can keep hold of Grealish from Spurs then we can keep hold of Mcginn. With our apparent awful FFP situation they immediately rejected 25million for Jack. Our owners are loaded, so the money offered won't even be a factor.
  8. Unfortunately we have to take the opposition into consideration. They have a tall striker, who is very good in the air. With that in consideration if Chester isn't fit then it HAS TO BE Jedinak.
  9. He is an Aston Villa player.. Everything he has he owes to Aston Villa (even his hot wife). We gave him a chance in our academy, we have continued to pay him (including loan wages), we have give him a new contract, we've stuck by him through ridiculous injuries. He is STILL an Aston Villa player. Then to go parading around on social media with KRO and "on our way" tags means he will NEVER play for our club again. Same goes for his moron brother. He's like his brother, only MORE stupid and MORE of a waste of talent. At least Craig Gardner waited until he left to be a lifelong West Brom, then Blues fan. The majority of the fans won't accept him back, and blues cant afford to buy him. Next year he will most likely sit out 1 of his "prime 27/28 years" waiting till his contract runs out.
  10. Haha i just googled it. Thanks mate
  11. What annoys me the most is (like most of the Wales squad), he isn't even Welsh!!!
  12. There's Wifi in the Holte End, the password is available on the wall of the Holte Suite!
  13. First half looked excellent. That pace and power up front with Kanes guile was great to see. Worried that Southgate wasn't proactive in the 2nd half. Sterling and Kane looked spent, meaning Kane couldn't hold anything up and Sterling wasn't running behind.
  14. The EFL placed the club under a "soft transfer embargo". Blues failed FFP, but the reason they may get a more severe punishment is because they stuck 2 fingers up at the embargo and signed a player. The EFL will HAVE to make an example of them, otherwise FFP will be seen as a nonsense. Meanwhile Purslow confirmed yesterday we will work within FFP.
  15. If anyone wants a laugh, then read this. I know our finances are poor, but those inbreds down the road are a LOT worse! Their wage bill is 204% of their income! http://priceoffootball.com/birmingham-city-2018-do-what-john/
  16. Regardless of perceived shortcomings as an owner, he very clearly bled Villa and loved this club just as much as we do! RIP Doug - Another Holte Ender in the Sky
  17. The way we have performed this season "The race for promotion" is completely irrelevant to us. Our current level is bottom half of the championship. Every time we have played a decent team we have been ripped apart. Until there's a change in management, or the team play to their level then this thread should be moved to "other football".
  18. We will win. It will be dull and awful but we will win.
  19. Bruce is extremely lucky that these 2 games before the international break are winnable. I can see us taking 4 points, in which case he won't be sacked. If we was to play half decent teams, then one pasting from a Derby, Tesco, Leeds would have seen him gone.
  20. A sensible management and business play would be: New contract for Jack. (more money always helps). With a 25 million release clause should we not get promoted. He will know a FULL season in the championship will improve him further and whether with us or someone else he WILL be in the prem next year.
  21. Used to live in Shrewsbury and went to quite a lot of games. Ryan woods played pretty much every game from 2013-15. Woods is a quality player, and exactly what we need. He picks the ball up off the defence (composed under pressure) and immediately looks for a forward pass. Any sort of possession or passing rhythm will run through him.
  22. Just brought my first season ticket for 10 years! I think this could be a decent season for us. I really do!
  23. John Terry is/was a word class defender. We have players in our team who were TOP championship players before they joined us. At some point you HAVE to blame management and coaches. Villa is ridden with players who WERE good, WERE leaders for their team yet now a shadow of their former selves.
  24. Kodja makes a lot of his goals. Hogan relies on service. The service to him has been poor. We even saw in the pre season friendlies he makes excellent runs, and is an absolute nuisance to opposition defenders with his runs in behind and out wide. I'm hoping that with a full pre season that our more "creative" players will eventually learn to pick out his runs. Goal will come, but he needs to play.
