  1. Being more realistic.... Ian Holloway, Zola or Di Canio
  2. I've met him a couple of times. Lovely bloke, but not a premier league player, and 60k a week is just a joke. Championship or Stoke for you Emile im afraid.
  3. He walked out on Colchester for Norwich after beating them 7-1 didnt he?? Im convinced with a decent offer he'd come to us, depending on investment etc.
  4. Donated, lovely donation and message from Paulina Petrova who I assume is his mrs
  5. This season I've been nothing but left fed up and disappointed after pretty much every home game. I now find going to Villa Park a chore than an enjoyable experience. I've made a deal with the Mrs.. If AM is still in charge by late July, I will not buy my season ticket and use the £1000 ive saved for the season (petrol, parking, food etc) on an extra holiday in the Autumn. The 3 other people I go with have all agreed that if AM is in charge they will not renew either.
  6. I must be the only one ... Im a Minnesota Viking. Started following the NFL in 09/10 when we reached the NFC championship game, only to lose in overtime.
  7. Racism works both ways. If a white labour/cons/lib MP made similar comments, they'd be lynched by the media and forced to resign. Also, really how stupid and idiotic can she be?!? To make comments of a sensitive nature on a week like this after all the horrendous Lawrence Murders.
  8. Annoyingly my whole family are Jehovah s Witnesses and don't celebrate Christmas. So, I go out Christmas Eve, get trashed, and wake up as late christmas day as possible
  9. I didn't renew this season, which was down to Mcleish. Its hard to set aside the money nowadays, and as soon as it was confirmed I would not renew. If we'd hired Flores, Hughes or even Martinez I would of renewed without a doubt. Many of my knuckle dragging friends informed me of what we were in for hiring Mcleish and they were (for once) spot on. That said I have been to a lot of the youth games this season and they are far more entertaining than the 6 first team games ive seen this season. Needless to say I wont renew next year if he is still here
  10. I've just got the game on the PC. First impression, absolutely love it. In medium its challenging, whilst not being impossible. In high settings its gorgeous!
  11. He's young and hopefully will learn. As much as I hate Mcleish, he does come over as a no nonsense sort of bloke, one who wont put up with this type of stuff. Its up to Barry now, he can either throw his career away, or put this all behind him and develop into the world class player a lot of people think he can be. He's just tweeted; Hopefully this has shocked him
  12. The Rock's matt skill were definitely still there. Looks in blooooooody good shape as well. Not sure about the end of the match like Stevo. Kind of pointless. I hate him, but to generate more heat Cena should of attacked the Rock behind his back or something.
  13. Since the turn of the Millennium only Messi and Zidane are in Christiano Ronaldo's league. I cant stand him personally, but god he is such a good player
  14. Thank fook for that. the Fat Spanish Waiter would of been a disaster in my opinion.
  15. Obviously i'd love Moyes but I just dont think he'd leave Everton for anything other than the champions league.. Id take a punt on Poyet.
  16. do they really think the board will spend 23 million when theyve got NO money and just been relegated?
  17. I can see Wigan getting a point at stoke and sending the sh*T down
  18. I honestly think its Moyes was offered money to invest in the squad he would come. He has made no secret of his frustration at the lack of funds at Everton
  19. Excellent young manager. Was in bed thinking next Villa manager (sad and worrying!) ..thought of Poyet, just wondered if it would be to much of a gamble but he's done a brilliant job and they play good football and but also very strong defensively. Hmmmmm, let's just say it would be an appointment I'd be excited about but a very high risk one. Great shout. If no high class managers are available id definitely take a chance on him.
  20. OK, Here's my take on events. Houllier has in my opinion been very naive (for a man of his experience). As said in previous posts he has tried to completely change the fabric of the way the team plays from the "English kick and run" MoN style, to a technical slow building European style. Problem being our players are not equipped to play that way. This takes time, whereas Houllier has tried to just fit square pegs into round holes so they can immediately adopt his style. He should of gradually introduced his style to the squad as he brought in the players who could adopt it, not make players like NRC pretend they are Jack Wilshere or Xavi. I personally want Houllier out, I didn't feel he was the right appointment in the first place. However (providing we stay up) I am willing to give him until Christmas before I jump on the bandwagon of negative chants etc. Give him a full pre-season and the summer to bring in players more suited to his style of play.
  21. Man City were negative.... but against the big teams if they win their home games and draw their away games they will be in a superior position.
  22. If Tom Ross said that, expect him to sign for Blose in the next 48 hours. 6 or 7 million is way too much for a 30 year old. 2 years of good football out of him and no sell on value.
  23. Villa find themselves in 13th place in the Premiership. What do you think is a realistic target for Houllier in his first season. Anywhere between 6-12. How do you feel Gerard Houllier has settled and what do you hope from him as a manager I think he has settled well. I expect him to keep us as a upper mid table team, and im HOPING and praying he does keep trust in the youth, and doesn't completely change the team, just adds a few quality additions. Do you feel that Houllier can get the best out of Emile Heskey Heskey isn't that young anymore and if we are playing with 1 up front it has to be gabby. After Citeh came in and took two of your better young players what do you think needs doing to replace them. Is youth development an option or is the only way the transfer window. I love and am proud of our Youth developement. However a team of Barry Bannans need to be supplemented by quality players. Do you feel that Robert Pires is an inspired signing or do you feel he is ‘over the hill’ With regards to playing a crucial playing role I think he is over the hill. However I think he is a fantastic signing because our youth players can learn a lot from him. Liverpool have a bit of “history” with regards to American owners. Villa have had Randy Lerner in since 2006. What positives and negatives do you feel he brings to the club. Positives, well he has spent A LOT of money, however you look at it and bought the fans closer to the club with things like the generals thread for example. I feel Villa fans are very lucky to be able to have contact and information from The General. How important for supporter/club development do you feel this has been and do you think it should be encouraged across other clubs I think its extremely important. At the end of the day we are parting with a lot of hard earned money, we want to know what's going on from inside the club, not stupid pointless watered down press statements. Martin O’Neill left at a crucial part of the season and it seems since then he is constantly being linked with the Liverpool job by the media as soon as an opportunity arises. How do you feel he would do as Liverpool manager, given the current financial situation and also with funds available. In my opinion Martins "gift" if you like is man management. He can make average players play very well. I'm not a big fan of him with regards to recruitment though. Unfortunately I dont think the best manager in the world could get Past Chelski, Arsenal and Man ure and with Man Citeh's spending Power is going to be a daunting prospect with little funds to get back in the top 4. How do you feel Roy Hodgson has done since taking the Liverpool job. Too early to tell, judge him at the end of the season. Other than Gerrard or Torres who would you take from the Liverpool squad and why? Reina, one of the best keepers in the world, Friedel is aging and we need a replacement. Agger is a good defender but its injury prone, if he was fit id have him.. I;'d like Ryan babbel, i do think with a club behind him and fans supporting him whilst playing regular football he could fulfil his potential. Last season we had two good games together with Villa winning at Anfield and Liverpool winning at Villa Park. Both games had “talking points” in them and I feel this is always the way with our encounters. What do you expect from this game. Bore draw! And finally what would you predict as a final score for our game? 1-1 or 0-0
