Murphy comes across as having a problem with the villa and has don efor a while. No idea why. Never played for the noses or albion or have any affinity to them AFAIK. Used to play in Liverpool teams that normally beat us. Can't work out why he rarely has a positive word to say about us.

I'd wager you could go on most teams forums and there would be topics on how poor the atmosphere is how fans don't get behind the team how fans are impatient etc. Dont think were a special or extreme case. Not saying that makes it alright, I just think we are constantly used as an example for an issue that is not unique to us

Too many variables to be drawing conclusions for me. Think we got 17 points from 14 home games with fans and 7 points from 5 home games without fans last season so not a great difference, especially considering we played teams completely and utterly on the beach in the post covid period. We werent great after lockdown in all truth we just werent as abysmal a Watford and Bournemouth. Both are hardly clubs renowned for crazy passionate supportive fan bases. This season the team is fundamentally different so wouldn't want to compare vs the with fans scenario from last year. Genuinely don't think villa fans are more difficult to play in front of than most other clubs despite what cretins like Martin keown claim. Just an easy/tired stick to beat us with. Not saying were constantly marvellous by any means, just that we are no different to vast majority of fan bases

Ridiculous if we sell him to a direct (and local) rival. Bad enough giving players to the blues but at least they're in a different division at the moment. I thought he looked decent pre lockdown but was admittedly abysmal post lockdown.

Not a bad player and one of the better right backs we've had in my lifetime (probably says more about the dearth in quality in that position since the 80s) His "Barry must go to liverpool" bollox whilst still employed by the club left a bad taste for me though

Maybe memory playing tricks but thought he started off quite well for us in his first season under Gregory and we found ourselves top of the league in October time (ish) Never seemed to get much of look in under Taylor/O'leary, not sure whether he was injured a lot or just not rated, but was a disappointing end after a fairly promising start

Chiltern's updated timetable doesn't look too clever - 2 trains per hour frequency and first train at half 8 ish?? i'm sure i was straight on a train at about 0715-0730 last year on a bank holiday monday so not sure why the service appears so much poorer this year? Unless i've got my timings from last year way off

people are going to be p1ssed off either way when they do the basic maths - better off being upfront about it in my opinion

in future they should probably strip out the tickets they are giving out internally and to hospo etc from any announcement re: our allocation for general supporters gives an unfair impression of how many tickets are available to the masses

which is why you shouldn't make judgements on atmosphere based on what you see/hear through the tele. Not saying you've been categorical here, but you do see the odd comment from tele-watchers saying stuff like "the atmosphere's sh1t" etc, and really, they aint got a clue that said, it wasn't a patch on Everton

surely the owners would have done their research and realised he has shown no evidence of this in his managerial career? genuinely can't remember a young player he has brought through in any of his roles, and although we played good stuff in very limited patches last season (when he had the best squad he has ever had to work with in relative terms), he has never played decent football for a prolonged period wanted change (not Henry), but now where stuck with Bruce he has my passive support
