  1. Only a 50-67% over exaggeration in your original comment. Maybe it's this kind of exaggeration that contributes to others feeling hes over rated?
  2. I just cant get my head round how you can possibly apply the above timeframes to Beckham career tbh. 10 years (11 at a push) encapsulates his entire meaningful career. Theres no 2/3 year build up, 10 years at the top 2/3 year gradual decline in his career at all. More like a couple year build up 5ish years at peak then a dive before a slight recovery, followed by (effectively) early retirement Your timeframes are way off
  3. So the class of 92 factors into being incredible for 15 years lol At absolute best you can claim 10 years as top class, which is significantly less then 15 years of incredible. Hence the massive exaggeration statement. 1 league title in 4 years at Real against a good but not ridiculous Barca is nothing to write home about. Nowhere near in champions league either. Bounced back in 2007 a fair bit granted but he, along with the rest of the galacticos, were performing below top level and below their reputation for a decent part of the mid noughties (especially 2005/6 when you say he won player of the year)
  4. Massive exaggeration. He was one of the better players in his position for 5-6 years from about 96/97 ish to about 2003ish at a push After that football was a sideshow, especially after 2007, irrespective of turning up at milan etc for a couple of months in his latter yeats
  5. I agree with you. Seems a bit haphazard.
  6. Seems to be pot luck tbh. If you get tipped off at the right time or phone up on the off chance and get lucky you seem to be able to get the vaccine irrespective of the various levels/cohorts
  7. 12th-14th more likely particularly if grealish misses a few games Would be a shame after how the season has panned out so far
  8. 100% this They'd have gone last year without Hogans run of goals and i fear it'll be the same again this year
  9. You can rent in harborne for that sort on that sort of budget
  10. I'm not convinced rotherham or Coventry have enough about them but fingers crossed
  11. Wimbledon often seemed to attract worst crowd of the season. Hardly anyone travelled. And although we won that game convincingly and I think were on a decent run at that point, generally we were pretty awful that season and nearly got relegated Attendances seemed to really recover post euro 96
  12. Manc 2008 was a quality day out one of the best I've ever had for footy absolutely barmy Think the authorities completely underestimated the scale of supporters who were willing to travel
  13. Losing in the playoffs with the squad at his disposal was a failure of a season
  14. Hes shite and a thug to boot. But I suppose it's all relative and that qualifies him for legendary status for the noses
  15. Now I have no doubt they are and were both noses. Why they felt the need to pretend to be villa fans I have no idea, other than being thick as pig shit.
  16. Craig: “I signed for Villa when I was 15 and since then these have been the best days of my life. I’m a Villa fan. from https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.business-live.co.uk/economic-development/mat-kendrick-craig-gardner-boyhood-3934198.amp
  17. Gary: "It’s a big thing for me as a Villa fan" from https://www.avfc.co.uk/News/2016/10/26/gardner-derby-excitement
  18. Fairly sure he played a fair few times the previous season but was displaced by Spink at start of 93/94. So the blues game might have been in his first appearance that season but not his debut
  19. And both openly stated they were villa fans even though they evidently were noses. Thick as shit.
  20. His kicking was piss poor Still comfortably the best goalie I've seen playing for us though (c. 1991 onwards)
  21. We signed Nelson (after Charles broke his leg I think?) then Watson to replace Charles but both were fairly rubbish so Delaney was plucked from relative obscurity. Best of the bunch.
  22. I'm a bit worried the PL will see us putting a team out for a cup game and expect the same for PL games I know they're different competitions and there is precedent for league games to be cancelled but the schedule is getting increasingly tight. At some point they're going to have to start enforcing their original rules unless the season is delayed in totality.
  23. So hes still defending the blues > villa nonsense? Cretin. Any statement that blues are bigger than villa is utter bollox unless the geographical area you're talking about is a narrow strip going east along the A45.
  24. there was a game last season at VP (maybe brighton at home) where we equalised, it was chalked off through VAR, then we scored shortly afterwards anyway (not chalked off) the celebration for the 'second' equaliser was muted - in my view because of the recent experience of VAR. So i think it can definitely have a wider impact on the extent to which a goal is celebrated. and i'll be honest there is always something ticking around the back of my mind whenever we score now. It was easy to glance over to see if the lino had his flag up before, now i'm to some extent on edge about whether the goal will stand until play has resumed. Might say more about me and my personality than anything else, but out of the lads i go with its a fairly common position.
