  1. I'll be stunned if the kit is as nice as those mock-ups
  2. He's great. You think he's wandering into trouble half the time and he makes you look a mug with a dip of the shoulder and a no-look pass the other way. You do that to your opposite man twice in the first 10 mins, they stand right off you not wanting to get done again. Hey presto, he's now got some room to play in.
  3. Well it appears you're staying you big wally. Let's be friends and agree to not sign any more bad players. Here's the gaps to fill... If Grealish goes you can expect a right big hole in the middle of that team. We need to sign at least four players good enough to start if we want to be above 16th next season. Not part of the squad next year Nyland Taylor Jota Lansbury Out on loan Vassilev Ramsey Here's some suggestions, won't go too wrong with any of these ST Andrea Belotti - Perfect target man. Captains his current team, leaves everything on the pitch. Callum Wilson - Bournemouth will be desperate to sell. I'd like some experience somewhere across our new front line. Wilson knows exactly how lead the line. Ollie Watkins- Buyout clause apparently. LW/RW Raphinha Milot Rashica- Can do a job up front as well Jeremie Boga David Brooks Mounir Chouiar Marius Wolf - Available for £10m from Dortmund. Can play RB as well. CM Teun Koopmeiners - Takes pens, corners, FKs and captain of his team at 22. Reminds me of someone actually... Baptiste Santamaria - Comfortable as holding player but could do a marauding McGinn role as well I think. Scott McTominay - OGS doesn't seem to fancy him but there's plenty of potential there IMO. He's got some size as well which we're lacking. I like the John Swift link for £6m RB Timothy Castagne - I would love this guy as he can cover either flank as a full back or a wide midfielder. Part of a really successful Atalanta squad, but not first choice. Diogo Dalot- Utd bought him for £60m two years ago and he's played about 20 games. Loads of potential. LB Owen Wijndal - Attacking LB Maximilian Mittelstädt - More sturdy LB GK Not needed if Heaton is fit. Not sure what the situation is. Rafa Cabral from Reading worth a look, but we don't really need two "first choice" keepers. Plenty of options closer to home, these are more options to come in and start. Crewe's two full backs I think would be decent squad filler. God this is so much fun.
  4. I absolutely cannot effing believe it. So happy. Well done Dean Smith. Well done Aston Villa. The most incredible two seasons that will be remembered forever by those who lived though it. I don't want it to happen, but I wouldn't argue with him being moved on if we could get in a top manager in quickly. This isn't a charity, Dean knows that. For example if Pocc was interested (which he won't be), it would be a handshake and a goodbye to Deano with the next level of manager coming in. The HUGE hope, is that just like all the players, he's improved through this. I have no doubts if we were to part ways, he'd go on to be an absolute hero at his next side. I'm thinking about Grealish as well. If he's moving on, it makes sense this is the time to change manager as well IMO. How the hell do you adjust to losing a player that good? It's going to be very very tough. A new man can come in with fresh ideas and doesn't have it hanging over him. Smith has done enough to have another go and I wouldn't begrudge him, it's all about the available options. Please God he'll have an actual Premier League squad to work with this time round.
  5. This is fantastic news. These are the sorts of moves we need to be making to try and claw something back from the real "big" boys.
  6. He never ever ever hides. A key cog.
  7. Thanks. Why non-villa fans spend their time on this site I do not know. What's great is they've popped up in a couple of cracking seasons of success. What a colossal waste of time for them
  8. I think there's something there. He's much much better than Wes, if a fair bit older.
  9. Can't blame him. If he wasn't getting a look ahead of Nyland at 23 it's time to move on.
  10. This next four hours are going to make such a massive difference to the content in this thread.
  11. Ikone being looked at by Dortmund from them. Not quite same position but both attackers.
  12. Well I'd been fine but it's here now. The sickness. Stomach turning. Come on Villa. Stand up Jack.
  13. That's bull I'm sure. Bielsa would drop Messi in an instant because he doesn't do anything off the ball. You don't run, you don't play under that loon.
  14. This could be it then Jack. Give us something special will you.
  15. Avoided Arsenal until about 10.25pm and let me tell you it was a delight. You have to keep busy though or you just picture the ball bobbling around the Villa box.
  16. Gomez is with the same agency as Grealish.
  17. If Bielsa gets Eze into that system and putting in the hard running everyone at Leeds does he'll be an unbelievable player.

    Wolves

Do you think Wolves fans will stop jabbing at villa so much and round on WBA next year Andy?
  19. Anyone seen Prodigal Son? Sheen can be good sometimes.
  20. Can definitely see this being a plan. Unfortunately his agent will be sat next to him and he'll be saying you don't know if any of these deals will happen. Utd will have you tomorrow Jack. IF IF IF we finish off the miracle and stay up...we need to move quickly.
  21. Silky player, kind of reminds me of Darren Anderton a bit even though Swift is more central.
