  1. Not Jimmy McCann ffs Tammy would be just about the best signing we could make. Him and Grealish could be the catalyst for the other to be at Villa Park for 2021. Three years on his deal, he's been holding off signing a new one as he wants money Hudson-Odoi got, something like £120k a week, hes on about £75k from papers.
  2. It was never Wes' goal tally that mattered, it was all performance that was the issue. It was not good enough. IMO he was drastically lacking in technique, movement and general understanding of key things like holding the ball up and making himself an option. But he's not going anywhere, I hope he can improve behind the scenes and make some positive steps next season out of the firing line. He won't be first choice first game back and that's a good thing for everyone.
  3. A good striker and right winger and we could be frightening going forward.
  4. He's brilliant. I keep saying it as well, it's the fact he's performing at this level for this side.
  5. I think they'd be interested in a Jota swap + money as well. He's a useful bargaining chip.
  6. One thing to bear in mind if will Grealish's value ever be this high again? He's been incredible this season, and I think he'll continue to improve...he might not though. If he does stay, has a bad season and we go down, we won't be getting many bids over £25m.
  7. Yes sir, mentioned them earlier, very good players. Berardi would be fantastic, but I think he's probably beyond us. I like Boga from Sassuolo as well, brilliant ball carrier.
  8. We've took so many steps backwards over the last ten years, it feels like the next crucial scenario is only round the corner constantly. We've just, somehow, pulled off back to back miracles in promotion and survival, and we've already got this crucial appointment ahead of us. I'm not 100% set on Smith, but it looks like he's staying on. This appointment must be right. 35 points won't keep us up next season.
  9. Can't ever remember Balague being correct on anything until others journalists have broken stories. Who knows if he's right, but what he's describing there is Purslow being cut out, reporting direct to the owners, very NFL GM style. Easy to imagine why Purslow wouldn't want that. Don't get that bit.
  10. I can't remember Balague being correct about anything ever. Don't understand this bit.
  11. His quotes from telegraph. All sensible.
  12. Interesting wording. Off to other football with you.
  13. Good player. Not quite a quick or direct as Rashica which we desperately need atm. We're gagging for some wheels in this team. If we get pace elsewhere, Brekalo be a great pickup.
  14. Yeah but Wesley couldn't control the ball.
  15. A good player and well worth £8m.
  16. If you're paying £20m for Wesley you deserve the sack.
  17. Absolutely **** stunning news. Go away Suso you useless man.
  18. I'll be stunned if the kit is as nice as those mock-ups
  19. He's great. You think he's wandering into trouble half the time and he makes you look a mug with a dip of the shoulder and a no-look pass the other way. You do that to your opposite man twice in the first 10 mins, they stand right off you not wanting to get done again. Hey presto, he's now got some room to play in.
  20. Well it appears you're staying you big wally. Let's be friends and agree to not sign any more bad players. Here's the gaps to fill... If Grealish goes you can expect a right big hole in the middle of that team. We need to sign at least four players good enough to start if we want to be above 16th next season. Not part of the squad next year Nyland Taylor Jota Lansbury Out on loan Vassilev Ramsey Here's some suggestions, won't go too wrong with any of these ST Andrea Belotti - Perfect target man. Captains his current team, leaves everything on the pitch. Callum Wilson - Bournemouth will be desperate to sell. I'd like some experience somewhere across our new front line. Wilson knows exactly how lead the line. Ollie Watkins- Buyout clause apparently. LW/RW Raphinha Milot Rashica- Can do a job up front as well Jeremie Boga David Brooks Mounir Chouiar Marius Wolf - Available for £10m from Dortmund. Can play RB as well. CM Teun Koopmeiners - Takes pens, corners, FKs and captain of his team at 22. Reminds me of someone actually... Baptiste Santamaria - Comfortable as holding player but could do a marauding McGinn role as well I think. Scott McTominay - OGS doesn't seem to fancy him but there's plenty of potential there IMO. He's got some size as well which we're lacking. I like the John Swift link for £6m RB Timothy Castagne - I would love this guy as he can cover either flank as a full back or a wide midfielder. Part of a really successful Atalanta squad, but not first choice. Diogo Dalot- Utd bought him for £60m two years ago and he's played about 20 games. Loads of potential. LB Owen Wijndal - Attacking LB Maximilian Mittelstädt - More sturdy LB GK Not needed if Heaton is fit. Not sure what the situation is. Rafa Cabral from Reading worth a look, but we don't really need two "first choice" keepers. Plenty of options closer to home, these are more options to come in and start. Crewe's two full backs I think would be decent squad filler. God this is so much fun.
  21. I absolutely cannot effing believe it. So happy. Well done Dean Smith. Well done Aston Villa. The most incredible two seasons that will be remembered forever by those who lived though it. I don't want it to happen, but I wouldn't argue with him being moved on if we could get in a top manager in quickly. This isn't a charity, Dean knows that. For example if Pocc was interested (which he won't be), it would be a handshake and a goodbye to Deano with the next level of manager coming in. The HUGE hope, is that just like all the players, he's improved through this. I have no doubts if we were to part ways, he'd go on to be an absolute hero at his next side. I'm thinking about Grealish as well. If he's moving on, it makes sense this is the time to change manager as well IMO. How the hell do you adjust to losing a player that good? It's going to be very very tough. A new man can come in with fresh ideas and doesn't have it hanging over him. Smith has done enough to have another go and I wouldn't begrudge him, it's all about the available options. Please God he'll have an actual Premier League squad to work with this time round.
  22. This is fantastic news. These are the sorts of moves we need to be making to try and claw something back from the real "big" boys.
