  1. Are blood clots a new thing or was it also possible to get one before the vaccine?
  2. i dont think i agree, the top 6 maybe dominated by big names but im not convinced the overall quality is really there. Arsenal have been a top 6 club in recent years but have they really been full of quality. I think the points total for 6th is largely unchanged, last year it took just 59 points.
  3. I'll go brave and say MON. I've heard all the arguments about ageing players, expensive purchases but 3 6th place finishes, Wembley trips and European journeys are a level of success we dream of for Deano.
  4. i think loans can be great for the correct player. The problem is we dont get to hear the other side of the story. Their must be many young footballers, 18-19 year olds that are just not able to deal with the pressure of being away from home and away from everything they know, the loan system could be breaking those players but they just become another player that didnt make it. Take the likes of Louie Barry, ive only heard him talk a few times but he often references his family and the support they give him, I wondered at the time how difficult a move to Barca away from everything he knew could have been for him. Id like to see clubs consider the player and what they really need for their development. City appeared to do this with Foden.
  5. i suspect he will look to move on in the summer. Fair play to him, taking to years to just learn and study. Imagine the experience he gained last year and then also getting to be part of a team trying to imporve and progress. Hes got to work with someone like Grealish at the top of his game, hes got to work with a back 4 that needed to be stablilised. All without the intense pressure that being the main man brings. I wish more players would do the same, Lampard would i think have benefitted hugely with a similar approach.
  6. I did the same. Was horrific. Also playing football and I remember thinking someone had thrown a stone at the back of my leg. I returned to running very cautiously. I literally started with 10 minute runs. 1 minute run 1 minute walk probably 3 times a week. Next week I went to 2 minutes run and upped it weekly from there. Eventually built speed and time.
  7. Similar to others. The supply issue with training gear is really frustrating, I found it impossible to buy anything in a large. I dont mind saying that I resorted to a dodgy Chinese rip off as they actually had the sizes. I understand all of the historic reasons but are we actually close to a resolution.
  8. Watching the england game and feels a terrible time for Jack to be injured. Mount taking his chance well, this feels like Gareths starting 11 to me. A plus in a way, Jack is gonna need to do something very special to put himself in that starting 11.
  9. 56 minutes. 0 shots. He maybe not the long term answer but right now we need some attacking intent.
  10. In our last game he showed more attacking intent than the rest of our midfield put together. I was hoping he would start. Looks like Sanson is his replacement. We need a player who will look to put the ball into the 18 yard box though.
  11. Oddly the 4 you have marked as non international likely have more international caps between them than the other 7.
  12. The whole feeling like a mug thing is usually about justifying your decision with other people. Just weigh up the options and make the decision. Work out how much the money means to you and let that dictate how you play it. If it's a show stopper let them know but also expect to have to own that decision if it doesnt go the way you want or changes their perception of you. If you just want to feel valued then tell them that, the job comes with increased responsibility so is it fair to expect some increased pay either now or in the future. You should take their response on face value, if you cant trust that you probably should be thinking of moving regardless. The whole feeling like a mug thing is silly though, you are the only other person in the conversation so the only other person who knows the circumstances and the things you want to achieve. In my experience the hardest working and most valuable people in an organisation often end up being the most rewarded. Usually because they are flexible, talented, easy to work with and keep finding ways to add value. Not because they push for more money all the time.
  13. i would just be honest. Say you appreciate them considering you and its a job you're could really see yourself doing. Let them know that you are looking for more responsibility but also that you are at a point in your life where you are also looking for some pay progression. Every single person in the world has likely had the same aspiration including all of these people more senior than yourself. The company can then decide whether that is something you will get now or will at least lay out the future opportunities for you. You can make an informed decision. In all honesty though, look through this thread and you will see many people saying many times that to really progress your pay, you will very likely need to consider leaving your current company.
  14. i worked under an umberella about 8 years ago. It was a good option at the time as it allowed to to be partly tax efficient but without the overhead of establishing a ltd company. I know a lot of rules have changed in recent years, i was lead to believe their was very limited benefit in an umberella company now, youre basically paye with little opportunity to max benefits.
  15. Dear Useless, on the 13th October 2021, I, Cheltenham_Villa used a 'laughing man' emoji in response to a summation of a post that I was led to believe you had previously made, regarding the fortunes of Aston Villa Football Club and their current manager Dean Smith. I have now been aware that those comments could not be accurately attribute to yourself. I would like to place on the record my sincere apologies for any hurt caused by the emoji. I now intend on taking a period of self reflection. Yours, Cheltenham_Villa
  16. My main worry is that every goal weve conceded since Cash was out, Elmo has probably been responsible for. The newcastle one much less so but it was a cross from the Villa right back position. Need him back in the team, his overlapping runs will really help us going forwards as well.
  17. I thought he could have prevented the goal to be honest. Jogged out to prevent the cross, if he gets there quicker and puts pressure on the player he could prevent the ball coming in.
  18. Hes such a divisive player but in a team struggling for goals he did more than any other midfielder going forwards. He put more players into shooting positions than luiz, ramsey, mcginn and Samson put together. I think hes desperate to try and impact a game which leads to the mistakes. After we scored he seemed to calm down and we saw some of the quality. I dont really believe hes been worse than any of the other midfielders, the problem is we pay a lot for him and he should have been the one to step up when Jack was injured.
  19. Probably our most creative player tonight. Created for Watkins at the end. Created for AEG.
  20. I thought barkley had a few decent touches. Decent ball down the wing and a couple of good bits of link up play. Decent one two and cross field ball to Watkins.
  21. i think Megan is a genius play by Netflix, they got into her years ago when they launched the crown. The final series will see her playing herself, shes been planted all this time.
  22. I guess we see things differently, El Gazi typically a wide player and ive not really seen Sanson at 10. Ive seen enough of Ramsey to know thats hes one for the future but unlikely to trouble a goal keeper. I saw enough of Barkley early on to know that if we can get him firing he can score and create, just need to get him back to being that player.
