  1. Hi I did a tour 4 years ago and was told to park near where the players do on match days! I think it was a guy called Mick who showed me and my daughter around and it was really good must have lasted at least 2 hours. Well worth it, shame we don't have a museum though... Oh and the camera didnt work when we were next to the trophies. Hope you have a good time! Derek
  2. For just a change I would love to have some stability and just buy the odd player rather than having to rebuild the whole team every year Rinse and repeat same cycle year in year out
  3. And where is TRO with his words of wisdom???
  4. Just watched the game on motd this morning and interesting to hear the pundits and Gerrard's comments. Gerrard at half time told the players they have done really well keep it up for the second half Conte we saw villa were pressing and playing a high line so they adapted and adjusted their game (tactics) and effectively went over the top with long ball allowing world class strikers to score That the difference between the managers....ours seemingly has no ability to change tactics mid game to respond or react. There is a bit of love in between the pundits and gerrard though....i think like Bruce they are giving him an easy ride
  5. Saw the saville documentary and had a sleepless night after watching it, shocking all them poor kids. Police, politicians, BBC and prince Charles, all hang your heads in shame so many of you supported and colluded with this vile creature
  6. My dad who took me to see the Villa in the late 1960's would have been 90 tomorrow.....I hope he can pull some strings from wherever he is now, as we need divine intervention to get anything from this game.... VTID Derek
  7. ....and I have only managed to see 2 wins all season.....
  8. Thanks for the update ....I think we all suspected that prices will increase. The scenarios that you show make this a lot clearer for me Regards Derek
  9. Sounds similar to my way of thinking 2 hrs from newmarket (suffolk) to Vila Park and 2hrs back is becoming a chore when being subject to some of our performances this season. Dont mind the 30mins walk from star city gives me chance to stretch my legs on the way to the ground. Whereas on the way back all I can think of is why do I bother....!
  10. I think I am going to be positive about this game, we raised our game against chelski, mann yoo, man c£ty............................ It will not be enough though and we will still lose 0 - 3 (Kane, Son x2)
  11. Yes I know what you are saying SMG.......perhaps I am morphing into one of those "entitled plastic fans" I will try and keep positive, but starting to dread the 2 hour journey home after a predictable crushing defeat or points being snatched away by the opposition in the last few minutes. If we win the journey home only seems to take 15 mins!
  12. Perhaps I should make a new thread called "What's the point?" I live the other side of cambridge, followed villa all my life, (yes born and bred in the shires and now live in Suffolk) first game was a home defeat in 1968 2 - 4 to Bristol City. I am a season ticket holder in the Holte End and I am nearly 64. Journey takes me about 2 hours each way, I dont get to see all home games but this season I have seen villa win twice... Next week I will drive up to see the game against spurs to see villa lose either convincingly or assisted by VAR I am beginning to wonder what is the point...? I will always follow the villa, enjoy the banter at the back of the Holte but I am beginning to wonder if I can bothered anymore, maybe this is the last season I waste my time going to watch another of the regular abject performances I have witnessed not only this season but over the years.... Please follow VT members try and convince me... VTID Derek
  13. TRO, your comments absolutely nail the issues the Villa have, I would like to think that the coaching staff see what you see but I am not convinced.... Regards Derek
  14. Lots of great comments on here... Maybe Putin is just testing out NATO's responses and maybe trying to provoke NATO, he seems deluded enough and with a massive ego to think he will have been welcomed by Ukraine whilst straddling and posing topless on a tank driven down the main street in Kyiv with rose petals being thrown at him...
  15. I am old enough to remember seeing him play....RIP Andy "Andy, Andy Lochead, Andy Lochead in the air" A Villa legend VTID
  16. I was taking my 3 grand kids to a local park near me yesterday and a car was right up behind me...too close really.....obviously reading my AVFC sticker in the back window! He then turned off, sounding his horn and gave us the finger, I noticed he had Leeds stickers all over his rear window.... This is typical behaviour of Leeds fans to be honest, immature, self entitled bullies.... So glad we beat them VTID Derek
  17. Here is my very pessimistic prediction based on current form of us and everyone else we are due to play... Away lose to Brighton, Home Lose to Southampton (they are on form) Away Leeds will be up for beating us away Wet Spam at their place another loss Arsenal at home another loss Away to Dog heads they will beat us on current form Home against Spuds maybe a draw home against liverplop another loss away to leicester maybe a draw home to Naaaarwich Deano to beat us so another loss Home to Palace possibly a win Away to man city another loss (of course Plus home and away to the thugs of Burnley are we really saying that we will get anything from either of those games? So perhaps a max of another 5 points....so yes I am concerned about being drawn into a relegation fight as I am not sure we have the backbone for a dog fight.... VTID Del
  18. Apart from the "0 goals".....same as us then !
  19. Mid table and sinking...look at the fixtures left where are the points coming from? I think we are getting drawn in to the relegation fight
  20. We seem to be poor at passing, we give up possession too easily, Our second ball is poor, We are too easy to tackle, We "telegraph" the majority of our passes We seem lightweight We lack "grit" We have poor set pieces We are predictable All opposition teams know this and will exploit it.....slightly concerned that Watford will hurt us... VTID Del
  21. Regarding Leeds second goal.... As soon as it went in I watched James looked at the linesman I felt that he expected it to be flagged for a foul (by James) and he reacted more with relief than anything else that the flag stayed down... Regards Del
  22. So here we are 3616 pages about Jack and he doesnt even play for us anymore. However it seems his legacy, if that is what we call it, keeps going on. I agree he was one of the most exciting talented Villa players we have seen for many years, but in my opinion he was always looking for that move albeit spuds, man yoo etc etc. Like most footballers he wants to win stuff, and it was not going to happen at Villa anytime soon. So I cannot blame him for seeking trinkets and once the big offer of man ci$y came in then he saw the $$$$ and the chance to get those trinkets, plus his head was turned in the Euros as well, the rest is history. Personally I think although he says he loves Villa, a footballer is a job/career although very short one. Would any of us turn down a massive pay increase etc? However I think he has been badly advised by the scum of the earth (not sky in this case) but his football agent. Football agents get paid a percentage of the transfer fee and a percentage of their players salary so it was in the best interests of agents to get good deals for themselves ...I mean players! I am not sure that he has the attitude and discipline to look after himself, eat the right stuff etc etc. To stay at the top of your game like an Olympic athlete for example you need to look after yourself, and I think that Jack may eventually self destruct like Gazza, George Best and several others. I might be wrong I have never met him, he might be doing all of this for his family and not himself - but exactly how much money does anyone need ...really? I am sure he is frustrated playing the sort of football at man ci$y but "he has made his bed" ....unless he gets more game time/fits better in the team and tactics then I think he will get frustrated and end up going to another club and/or self destruct. As for coming back to the Villa, well if we need a player like Jack in the future then yes, but as a club I am hoping that we will have moved on by then rather than being a club for players about to retire from the game... Jack, thanks for everything especially the 100 million and good luck
  23. And a tenth the cost of man ci£y or chelski's subs bench would have saved Bury F.C. from closure... And it's only going to get worse in my opinion until the whole pack of cards fall down. Regards to all Derek
