Got splinters in my rear end sitting on the fence deciding to renew or not.... Couple of things it's the 150 year anniversary coming up in 2024 and I hope that will be worth being around for. I certainly wont be around for the 200th ! With the timing of Coutinho signing for us seems to be a ploy to encourage us fence sitters that more signings are on the way and therefore to renew.... I wish we had some different songs to sing as well as witty funny ones. "Look in the dustbin for something to eat" was funny years ago as well as "sign on with a pen". It would be great to start a unique Villa one and I dont mean "holte enders in the sky"....just some new one or two songs for variety... Many years ago I used to love singing "knees up mother brown" in the olden days before sky invented football. There must loads of redundant songs that we used to sing. I was there last night and comments on here about him being old and unfit are true to be honest, he was awful. What concerns me is why is he still refereeing? I did hear that this not the last we will hear about this person, he is getting promotion:- Premier League referees Martin Atkinson and Jon Moss are set to retire at the end of the season and take up roles within the Professional Game Match Officials organisation The Times have reported that Moss will be the new manager of the ‘select group one’ referees, who officiate in the Premier League, while Atkinson will be their coach While I hope that there is no dodgy dealings such as bottles of whiskey or brown envelopes in the officials changing room, I do think the same as others have that there is "unconscious bias" by many refs towards favouring the so called "big" clubs. But what to do about it......? European (non British refs) seems to be much better than our current crop why cannot they ref prem games?.....or will that upset the "closed shop" of poor refs?

Just had a quick look at clubs in the part of the world where I live, Cambridge United Adult season ticket between 300 and 400 quid, Ipswich 400 to 500 and Norwich just over 600 despite being relegated... Interesting that some of these clubs offered discounts as well. Norwich season tickets went on sale in Feb this year. I am slowly coming off the fence to renew..... VTID Derek

I have a soft spot for Norwich, living where I am, I did venture onto one of their forums to see what they were saying... Confusingly they keep referring to DS which can either mean Delia Smith or Dean Smith, so it takes a bit of working out what the conversation is about. They want Delia out, they are/were a well run club but have realised that without a multi billionaire sugar daddy no team is going to break into the top 6. They thought the ref was biased towards us, thought we were thugs and that even with all our money, the best we will ever do is be a mid table prem team. Interestingly they all welcomed the championship where they all thought the league was fairer, no VARS, no bias towards the top 6 and less diving and cheating......perhaps they are onto something.....

I think we will get a penalty, graydon will take it, keelan will save it but the ball comes off the post back into play and graydon will then score.... I know what you are saying but the predictably of us regularly losing to the top 5 gets boring, whereas in the championship there is no VARs, the refs are just as bad but at least they dont seem to have the "unconscious bias" that they have towards the top 5 Not so much wankfest/skyscum frenzy in the championship... We could easily be relegated. Look at our form. Teams below us have everything to play for we seem to think the seasons over, we dont have the grit to grind out points. We are tactically naive, opposition figure us out and beat us with ease. We will lose to Leicester, Norwich and Dean will raise their game and it will be yet another home loss. Liverplop and man ci£y 0 points Burnley will fight for everything I can see us not up for that so home and away 0 points. Palace ...who knows? Mr Purslow, you can go on about grandiose schemes about updating Villa Park but the elephant in the room is what is happening on the pitch? Yes we can match spuds for 45 mins but still loose 4 - 0, yet tactically aware Brighton can beat them. Relegation would be a catastrophic disaster for us Finishing just above the relegation zone would have to mean the manager has to go, otherwise continuing like we are into next season then we will go down. As for Gerrard bringing in a load of his old mates to play for us to boost their pensions instead of playing some of our talented youngsters....we have all seen how that turns out back in 2016 Sorry to be pessimistic but we are not going to attract the players we need based on the direction we are heading....
