  1. Pau Torres is looking good; starting to play the ball a little more now. Of course his attempts can be intercepted but it is necessary as he provides an outlet from defence to attack using his vision. Not sure if accurate but found his passing statistics: Played 16 Chances created 5 Assists 1 Goals 1 Passes 1128 Passes Completed 1014 Pass Accuracy 90% For total passes Torres is the highest closely followed Douglas Luiz.
  2. Seems like a good time to play them... Maddison out until the New Year, is that correct? Romero, Bissouma suspended. Van Der Ven also injured, anyone else.
  3. Agreed, pretty certain Ramsey would have scored a few goals too.
  4. Chelsea potentially more of a threat to Villa than the Barcodes; better manager, players and finding some form now. Depends on what teams do in January I suppose. After the international break some massive games for Villa.
  5. Yeah Chelsea looking good today. Sterling, Palmer looking particularly good. Potentially a big threat to Villa as the season progresses.
  6. Immense today, as said the run and change of direction for the goal was sublime. McGinn's resurgence under Emery has been fantastic as he was looking lost and unfit for part of Smith's tenure and all of Gerrard’s time at Villa. Most of the players have improved immensely which is really driving the team forward.
  7. Agreed, he is amazing. And to think we could have been joint top if we'd won against Forest.
  8. Yeah i said it awhile back, Zaniolo has been thrown in at the deep end which hasn't helped... Here's hoping he improves although his chances might be limited once Ramsey is back.
  9. Looked offside to me during the game (watching on Discovery +) I was surprised it was given...
  10. I'm all for giving him time but at the top level there is an argument that you don't really get time... When Ramsey is back he'll be straight back in on that left side and Villa will be stronger for it. I'm certain if a fit Jacob Ramsey had started and played instead of Zaniolo he'd have scored a few goals already. It's not criticism it is just the facts, Zaniolo has been wasteful.
  11. Not true, before the Corporate Expansion I was at a Home game last season and the atmosphere was poor. Agreed. I was at the Wet Spam game last month and they were singing about us being so quiet. It was only when we got into a winning position that we started making a lot of noise. Sing when you are winning and all that...
  12. Are they going to drop £125 million on him? Caicedo £117 million, Fernández £107 million... Douglas Luiz will be around the same, at least Villa will value him around that fee for sure. I also think he's better than both of those players....
  13. Pat Johnson has died, many of you will know him as the referee in the Karate Kid film...he also arranged all of the fight choreography for the film and taught all the actors. However he was a very influential U.S. Martial Artist and Captain of the Chuck Norris Tang Soo Doo team where he fought approximately 200 fights and losing only one. I always remember him fondly for a very small role in Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon where he tries to extort money from Roper's character and he famously says: "It's the dough Roper! Or we've gotta break something". 50 years in the martial arts, much respect. R.I.P.
  14. Just saw the highlights on SKY... Apologies if you already know this: Kobei Moore scored last night and is the son of Stefan Moore and nephew of Luke Moore. There's a flashback, I remember the hat-trick from Luke Moore and thought he was going to be brilliant for Villa.
  15. Zaniolo is in because there is a weakness on the left with Ramsey's injury. So he's in at the deep end, he's trying but has missed some very good chances. Fans have a right to voice their concerns and the holier than though rhetoric doesn't really help. Emery wants to win, and if a player like Zaniolo is not doing the business he gets subbed at half-time in consecutive matches.
  16. Agree with some of the recent comments, they overachieved last season... Their squad and players aren't that great. Saka also does my head in, his theatrics at Villa p***** me off and he does it every week! Arteta seems really arrogant too; seems to revel in it.
  17. Valid point although Diaby favours that position... Emery did say when Zaniolo signed that he can play accross the front three. I'm thinking really Zaniolo was back-up for Ramsey and it's unfortunate he hasn't had the time to experience PL football in a slower and more refined way; instead he's been thrown in.
  18. Barcodes fluked a win, strange game which didn't deserve a win. Trippier was poor again, Guimaraes could have had a red card and their goal too was dubious.
  19. Diego Carlos and Clement Lenglet will be in for this. Keep much of the same team apart from those two. Might see Moreno if things are going well perhaps for the last twenty minutes?
  20. Touch of offside/player interfering with the view of Martinez for the first, that was tough. But the flap for the second was awful, really embarrassing to be honest.
  21. Not in the matchday squad again for Forest, interested to see if he makes it for the European game...
  22. Really odd game of football, I thought we'd get something from the game. But, Villa lacked urgency. There wasn't much spirit, fire, drive, they just plodded along. This style really helped Forest get players behind the ball and double-post on certain players. I thought Digne was really good and gave him MOTM but then he missed a great chance to score. McGinn and Torres both good too. Many of them were coasting today though which was poor. I'm not going to be too upset though as third place was within our reach, thankfully Liverplop dropped points. Typical of Villa though really. Zaniolo, Diaby, Bailey today all really poor. Watkins struggled but had three defenders around him most of the match so difficult for him to have much impact.
  23. Zaniolo looked lively early on in his Villa career... But now seems to be really lacking confidence; the pass from Diaby he should really have hit first time. Second game in a row subbed at half-time is a sign too.
  24. Never really liked this club but now with all this s*** I'm starting to really dislike them...
  25. Yeah, sounds like a warning perhaps?
