  1. I was down for the Wet Spam match and met him and a few other players after the game. Buendia was mobile, went in and out the players entrance a few times and he was still limping very badly. That was 22nd October. I'd say we may see him back in a Villa shirt this season but probably only the last couple of months all going well.
  2. Also under Unai Emery Villa are grinding out results, previously we played well against Arsenal and lost. Villa are also capable of dominating Man S***** and winning well.
  3. Bosnich was on SKY this morning saying Villa are very much in the Title Race. And you know we are having just beaten two of the best PL teams in the space of three days; it's incredible really. Brentford are tough at their place though so i'd take a point.
  4. Needs a well-earned rest I think in the midweek European game away... He played great against City and looked a little tired against Arsenal; need him fresh for the next PL game with Luiz missing out.
  5. It's actually a myth (of sorts)...regarding buying players in January. Villa bought Moreno, even way back we bought John Carew and Ashley Young. Looking through time you can find many others top players who moved in January: Van Dijk is one of them...
  6. Haha yes indeed the run is cool you can tell he's putting absolutely everything to tracking back. Love him and all the Villa players: "Honest bunch of lads".
  7. This. The atmosphere on Wednesday sounded great but it can always be improved upon.
  8. People saying we were drained from the performance but Villa could also be galvanised; one last push and then we can change things around. Also the luxury of Ramsey, Diaby and Moreno raring to go. I thought for long periods of the game against man s***** Villa were looking to control the game, especially as the match got into the last ten minutes. Pretty sure Unai will want to keep a settled team but he can change it too.
  9. Just a great performance, the whole team could easily have qualified for MOTM. But yes Bailey was great and had them worried every time he got the ball, looking to turn, run and take players on. Defence and midfield ALL of them exceptional. It's probably the best I've seen Villa player since forever (mid-eighties) because of the calibre of the opposition and their confidence. Villa tactically were brilliant which is why this victory is up there, Emery outthought Guardiola. From watching on TV the noise seemed deafening too, much of the same for our remaining games will keep the energy high. Emery is constantly name-checking the fans and their support and it is greatly appreciated.
  10. It was interesting to watch, after their first tussle Carlos pretty much got the better of him and the referee gave Villa a foul. Second time they fought Haaland threw himself to the ground to win a free-kick when he was the one fouling Carlos by pulling the Villa man's shirt. Haaland knew he couldn't better him in a physical battle. Carlos again, like Torres and Konsa is so calm and confident on the ball; he also was brilliant last night with some lovely passes, dinked one over Bernardo Silva too which was audacious!
  11. Pau Torres was exceptional last night, strong when he needed to be, skilful with the ball and a great range of passing.
  12. Europa Conference League is still a trophy within our grasp and one we should still target. Winning titles is all about consistency, with Emery we are being more than consistent. Hopefully one or two additions in January to push for a starting place in the first team will help, although I don't think Villa need much at all.
  13. I'm one of those who thought he was never going to make it at Villa but glad to be proven wrong. However he did also admit he struggled with injuries in his time since joining... Unai Emery has improved so many players who were struggling for direction, tactical awareness etc under Smith and then that fool Gerrard only made them worse. Amazing that Bailey is keeping Diaby out now.
  14. Yeah, his behaviour at Villa Park last season was awful...total spoilt baby. I hope Emery gets the Villa players fired up for this one.
  15. In the year Unai Emery has been at Villa he must be one of if not THE best managers in football. The record is immense and Villa just dominated in every statistic the best team in World Football.
  16. Villa's best start to a League season since 1980/81.... Just saying, beat Arse and we are in the mix for sure.
  17. The News.. Marshall McLuhan (below) was correct when he presented his theory in 1964: "The medium is the message."
  18. Sure, titles aren't awarded in December (obvious) yet it is about consistency. At home and under current form Villa must have confidence against all teams.
  19. Not at all... Simply put he isn't a Villa player anymore so it isn't a necessity to support, like him or subjectively plaud him at every turn like some... What he did was Delph-like, he was labelled a snake but some defend Greal-hiss for similar actions and it is a hypocrisy.
  20. By the cut of their jib some VT posters would seem rather happy about Greal-hiss scoring against Villa.
  21. Agreed. Diaby no question, I think it's why he was rested at the weekend...although I'm aware Emery denied it.
  22. Tim has the physique, so potentially yes he can. Hopefully that is being worked on behind the scenes but he needs matches, difficult situation for him and Villa.
  23. Martinez consistently saves the Villa, defence has been a bit iffy of late. But yeah some saves from him again....
