  1. Touch of offside/player interfering with the view of Martinez for the first, that was tough. But the flap for the second was awful, really embarrassing to be honest.
  2. Not in the matchday squad again for Forest, interested to see if he makes it for the European game...
  3. Really odd game of football, I thought we'd get something from the game. But, Villa lacked urgency. There wasn't much spirit, fire, drive, they just plodded along. This style really helped Forest get players behind the ball and double-post on certain players. I thought Digne was really good and gave him MOTM but then he missed a great chance to score. McGinn and Torres both good too. Many of them were coasting today though which was poor. I'm not going to be too upset though as third place was within our reach, thankfully Liverplop dropped points. Typical of Villa though really. Zaniolo, Diaby, Bailey today all really poor. Watkins struggled but had three defenders around him most of the match so difficult for him to have much impact.
  4. Zaniolo looked lively early on in his Villa career... But now seems to be really lacking confidence; the pass from Diaby he should really have hit first time. Second game in a row subbed at half-time is a sign too.
  5. Never really liked this club but now with all this s*** I'm starting to really dislike them...
  6. Yeah, sounds like a warning perhaps?
  7. Yes this was mentioned before... In Debt Collector he's wearing a Villa coloured tie, pretty cool as it's filmed on location in L.A.
  8. Zaniolo's reaction was pretty funny too!
  9. I know of him (obviously) but well before my time... His appearance record averages 38 games per season over 17 years which is incredible. R.I.P H.E.I.T.S
  10. Good point. I agree that I like Zaniolo but I'm certain Ramsey would have scored a few goals for us playing in the same position. No doubt about it Zaniolo should have scored by now he's missed some very good chances.
  11. Not sure if you aware but Buendia is out for awhile?
  12. Watching the game today and last week against Wet Spam the Villa under Unai Emery are so dominant and I have also started to wonder is he the best manager of the modern era. I grew up in the Ron Atkinson era which was pretty exciting but this is incredible and the statistics so far are so encouraging. It is certainly possible for Villa to be still top five or four around January and hopefully push on even more with an astute signing or two. I'm hoping the style Villa are playing will continue in that it is important to manage the games, conserve energy for future matches and playing within ourselves. There will be some tough patches perhaps and a few bumps along the road but as Emery says the supporters are important and the energy at Villa Park is part of this process too.
  13. Kane is one of the best strikers in World football, it's difficult to pick a clear winner. His goalscoring record is phenomenal at international level, PL and now the Bundesliga. Bellingham I believe is the best player in the world right now, at 20 yrs old he is already an experienced player; twenty-seven caps at international level and already has experience of three different leagues. In his post-match conference Carlo Ancelotti called him already a veteran, which is again phenomenal. It is very important to put aside subjectivism.
  14. I agree, he probably deserves it based on his current form which I'm glad to see. No doubt about it though Bailey has struggled to find consistency, he does seem to prefer the home games. Against AZ Alkmaar I think Villa should field the same line-up we saw against Wet Spam.
  15. I don't think so, Villa were in control for most of the game. Still think Villa should be at almost full strength for this.
  16. Just back to the hotel room after the game, drinks in the bar with family made it a late one. Before the match I was apprehensive as we seem to not fare well against them, but I thought we dominated much of the play. They definitely aimed to not get beat, tried to keep things close. As we arrived at the game I said I'd buy my son a kit (away white) but he was not sure of the name so he ran a few ideas and decided upon Douglas Luiz. I'm glad he did as he was immense, different class, he and Kamara ran the show. Did he hit the bar from the corner? Pretty unlucky not to get three. Regardless MOTM for me. Thought Zaniolo looked decent too, created a few chances and showed some nice touches, skills. Watkins looked sharp, dangerous, held the ball up with some lovely touches and passes. And a great finish for his goal and yet another assist. Only my eight year old's second game yet he has seen a 2-0 win and now a 4-1 win, tis a pity we live outside of England but we'll have to get back more often. Met a few players for selfies again like last time out, notably Martinez, Cash, Buendia, Diaby and McGinn. The latter is a great guy who chatted with people and seems like the most genuine and humble of people. UTV
  17. Tough game, but so was Brighton. Here's hoping Villa put on a show as this will likely be the only match I can attend this season,
  18. I agree Bowen would have been great for Villa on the right... He predominantly plays right-side for them and did against Australia for England. Regardless, Bowen is a danger man and I really rate him.
  19. Yup, it was a good interview... Comments about Emery improving his game (Watkins) and how he has so much more confidence to play at the top level. I also thought he played well, lots of energy, some good runs and getting into dangerous positions. Unlucky not to score two.
  20. Zaniolo is still very young and acclimatising to the rigours of PL football and Professor Emery; he will hopefully continue to improve and become a good player for Villa. However signs are decent and he could have easily already scored a couple, he's been unlucky.
  21. Two points per game is pretty amazing if Villa can average that we'll be in with a shout... However Villa need to start beating the likes of Arsenal, City and Liverpool especially at home to have any wild aspirations of winning the league.
  22. Imagine finishing 5th and winning the Europa Conference? It's amazing really when you think of where we were only a year ago...
  23. I like Pau Torres even more after seeing and hearing his interview... Seems a bit of a leader by all accounts, Unai likes him, he's keen to learn and improve too. Not easy to come out and talk as he's obviously still learning the language but yet he speaks so well; seems an intelligent fellow. Now I'm even more confident he will become a great player for Villa.
  24. Yeah, another solid performance from the Man Mountain.
