Norwich are quite hard to beat at home. Their problem has been scoring. Their home defensive record is pretty good for a team who are bottom. I suspect that this will be a tight match. The first goal could be very important. I am going 0-1. Buendia to score against his old club.

It’s interesting that Gerrard decided to announce that Emi will be starting tomorrow. It’s rare that a manager does that. Is he trying to influence the way Norwich set up I wonder. No doubt he has his reasons.

I’m not naming names but I’m sick of gutless, selfish idiots who go on about the breach of their human rights because they are being asked to make very small and sensible sacrifices for the greater good of humanity. Is it really that bad being asked to wear a mask in public, get a free jab that keeps us safe every 6 months and practice a bit of social distancing? Of course not! My wife works on a respiratory ward. At the start of this pandemic, her and her colleagues were expected to go to work every day, uneducated on the risks, unprotected by vaccine or even simple PPE and scared that doing their job might lead to their deaths! Many of these good people have died trying to help the many, poor sick people who have died, scared and alone. Think about that when you line up to moan about how crap things are for you. This is not a perfect situation and there is sadly lots of collateral damage but we should stick together and act in a manner that is best for the majority.

I agree. We need to sign a Dougie/Marv hybrid to play at the base and then 2 of SJM, Sanson or JJ as eights. Happy for Marv and Doug to fight for their place in the team though.

When Dean was in charge we barely laid a glove on Southampton. In fact, for 45 minutes we managed to make them look like Brazil! To have transitioned from that to the disciplined, hard working performance today in such a short space of time is an absolute miracle. Get on the bus mate. It’s warm in here.

I am definitely not ITK but I had lunch with a mate today who is well connected at Rangers. He says that we have contacted Rangers about Nathan Patterson. He reckons Rangers will sell at the right price, likely to be around £10m. He also says that Patterson is going to be a top player. Take it with a pinch of salt if you like but I thought I would share. It might lead to nothing but it does indicate that Gerrard might want some competition for Cashy and Patterson has only just turned 20.

So pleased for Trez. He is a top bloke and I can really see him being effective as a 10 under Gerrard. He is one of the best pressers at the club and he does love that back stick!

It’s not a great draw but Utd are very beatable. We got this.

Jinxed it!

He was good today. Not perfect but he was good. He always shows for the ball which is key to our forward transitions. He is getting better every week. He works really hard and he does have incredible vision. His execution let’s him down at times but the rest of our midfielders don’t even see the passes that he is failing to execute.

He’s fine for now Cashy but there are elements of his game that really need to improve. If he doesn’t improve them, he will get replaced in the next year or so. The same could be said for Targett too.

Ha ha. That’s so unlucky mate. In all the excitement of my boys birthday I forgot to take my own advice and make the bet. I did have to pop out and pick up a takeaway though and ended up watching the last 10 minutes in a local pub surrounded by Leicester fans. It was most enjoyable!

Have they changed the clear and obvious element of using VAR to overturn a decision? There’s no way you can say that it’s a clear and obvious mistake. It’s way too subjective. It’s also a decision that should not be decided on a freeze frame. They should have played it in real time. Having said that, we have been poor. Big improvement needed in the second half or we will lose this.

I have just watched a YouTube video of his best Villa saves. What a keeper. He’s the best I have seen in a villa shirt and he’s certainly earned his corn over the past 18 months! He just seems to get us as well. He loves us and we love him! He’s worthy of a new contract in my view.

Man City can afford to carry these players because their income is so much greater than ours. We have to be smarter with our expenditure otherwise we will fall foul of FFP. We have to box clever. I’m sure we would all love to keep Danny Ings around just in case but can we really afford to be so profligate? It’s not small time, it’s sensible.

Surely you can’t drop Marv. He has been superb and is key to our upturn in form. I would go for the same three as Wednesday to start. Great to have some options though!

It’s my son’s seventh birthday on Sunday. He was born in Leicester on a weekend where we actually played Leicester at Villa Park. We went one down and all the nurses were giving me stick because I had bought my son a villa baby grow and they were all Leicester supporters. We can back to win 2-1! That’s gotta be a good Omen. Get your money on 2-1 Villans. UTV

I think we should keep Chuk in the 10 role. He is perfect for the position. He also brings a bit more control and physicality to our team, more so than our other 10’s. He may well develop into a great 8 but for now, if we are going to get him minutes, it should be as a 10. If he can get a goal I think we will see him really progress quickly.

He’s had a decent half but should have headed their first goal away.
