I would try a 5-3-2. It would get more height in the team with the three centre backs, better suit Targett and Guilbert. It would also make us more compact in the middle whilst hopefully helping Wesley up front. Dean is just trying the same thing over and over and actually achieving very little. Earn your corn Deano and get the best out of what you have!
  2. Totally agree about Phillips. I’m sure we would be in a healthier position if we had signed him or another similar player. That would be priority one for me in January. We cannot dominate games without controlling the middle of the park.

He sticks with the same tactics and formation every week and does nothing to change it during the game itself! He needs to be cleverer and mix things up a bit. If he doesn’t we are going straight back down! Time to earn your corn Deano.
  4. Ha ha. I prefer to be positive. When he scored against Everton it clearly lifted him. Let’s hope that it can happen again.
  5. I really hope he scores today. He really needs the confidence boost. Come on big Wes. You can do it!
  6. I wonder if anybody will try and sign Bellingham from the clowns down the road? He looks like a proper player and still only 16, a They would probably flog him for peanuts.
  7. For the first time I am starting to think that Wesley should be dropped if only to make everyone realise that he is our best option. He keeps getting picked because anybody else that we could pick would be worse! Maybe Davis could do a job but he is injured so what else could the manager do but keep picking Wesley. I also think that he is doing ok. He is clearly lacking confidence but he is still showing for the ball and putting in the work. I’m confident that he will go on to have a decent career, hopefully at Villa.

We defend so poorly from front to back. I lost count of the number of times we failed to react to a second ball but then compounded the mistake by not pressuring the man who won the ball. Our players are also totally unaware of the movement of opposition players. We let them drift into space totally unopposed all game long, often just standing and watching. Finally we are so poor at defending set pieces. Our players are weak and totally lacking in the ability to clear the ball. At the start of the season I expressed concern about the diminutive stature of all our midfield players. It
  9. Along with Jack, Tyrone is the biggest reason that we have come so far in the past 10 months. We have been awful at the back for years (even with JT we looked somewhat exposed at times) but he single handily rectified that over night. He is a joy to watch and a top bloke to boot!
  10. Wesley is rubbish blah blah blah! Championship player at best blah blah blah! Touch of a donkey blah blah blah. Never gonna be good enough blah blah blah! Alternatively, Wesley is a young kid doing an amazing job in ploughing a lone furrow for a newly promoted team who are the sixth highest scorers in the league. If he is so rubbish why are we scoring so many goals? Lay off the kid ffs. We are finally on an upward trajectory and we need to back and support the players. He can become a top player but it will take a bit of time.
  11. Southgate is the only person in the Country who understands why Jack hasn’t been picked yet. He is different to any other English player. No other can carry the ball as effectively as him or weight a pass so precisely. I love watching him play. He always has time on the ball. It’s effortless. I am pretty sure that if we don’t stay up he will go in the summer. Even if we do stay up I only think he will stay for one more season. He can play for pretty much anyone and he deserves to. Whatever happens we should all just enjoy it whilst we can. He is the best player ever to have come throu
  12. Roy Keane for me. He would take us up a level or two single handed.
  13. Good point about Savo. It was the same for big Crouchy
  14. I thought he did pretty well. He worked hard. Linked the play well. The goal would have done him good but sadly not to be. I think he gets way too much stick on here. For a young guy he is doing well.
  15. So nervous now. All rational thought has exited my mind. The next few hours are going to be painful..........come on Ingerlund!!!!!!!
  16. She knows mate. She knows.....
  17. Totally agree. Give the lad a break and actually try getting behind him. He has shown enough to make me think he can be a success. It will be easier if we back him rather than slaying him every week.
  18. Dean said an interesting thing in the press conference yesterday. He said that only Spurs had out played us so far this season. I absolutely agree with him. That is disappointing in a way because our points total does not reflect that but it also offers massive hope. If we all pull together I am sure we can turn it around. The part that we play, as fans, could be critical

The team felt better balanced today. I would stick with the formation next week but maybe switch Trezeguet/AEG and Connor/Douglas. Both of those are splitting hairs really but I just feel that it would provide better balance. I also think we will win our next two games.............but wtf do I know!

    Tom Heaton

Absolutely needed to come and deal with the cross for their second today. He will be disappointed with that. Especially against Burnley.
  21. It could be worse. At least we are not Man City fans..............have you seen the kit they are wearing tonight? Now that’s embarrassing!
  22. Totally agree. He was in the last England squad ffs!

He is clearly not doing great at the moment but he is a fast learner. He, like the players, is on an upward learning curve. He needs to learn fast or it will already be too late but we really need to avoid throwing the baby out with the bathwater! Fulham should have stuck by their man last season, they didn’t and it was curtains. Every game seems hard to take at the moment but we really are not getting the points that we deserve. That can change very quickly. Huge couple of games coming up but 6 points is achievable. That would certainly be a good start.
  24. No goals or assists this season. I know he is recovering from injury but he hasn’t offered much so far.
  25. He just looks like he is trying too hard at the moment. He is getting better with each game and I fully expect him to add goals and assists in time. He was a real handful last night.
