Con
I don't know why Mata even wants to go to Utd. He's probably getting a nice slice of the £37,000,000 transfer fee He's probably getting a pay rise He has secured a contract which takes him further into his career than his current deal with Chelsea He'll get more game time He'll increase his chances of playing in the World Cup in Brazil He'll be signing for one of (if not the) biggest clubs in the world He'll get to play in the League Cup final at Wembley

Rovers13
I don't understand why Mata would want to go to United. Look what they did to Kagawa. Moyes will likely just put Mata at LM which is what Mourinho was doing. I don't see anything changing. Moyes plays a 4-4-2 and Mata surely won't be playing as one of the mids because he is not good defensively. Moyes almost always played 4-2-3-1 at Everton. If Man City didn't have 4 strikers he would fit in well there with Navas and Silva.
One For The Road
Rafael is a walking red card. he's been with Utd for years but not developed big-game maturity like Gary Neville whom he has replaced. don't think he ever will. at a club that loses more games in the season than Utd typically do toys will be flying out his pram every week. no thanks. Kagawa is not proven in the Premier League. There must be a reason why he can't get into this Man Utd team. maybe he doesn't like the pace of the game? Weimann is a known quantity. Yes Weimann is a known quantity, he is known for being s***. Kagawa on the other hand is one of the true quality players United have at the club and its a mystery why DM doesn't get more out of him. Not as good as Rooney though who has 9 and 9 in 16.

It's not really a mystery, he's playing Kagawa out of position (as did Ferguson), and he's never had a decent run of games to click with his teammates. #freeshinji
Con
Kagawa is not so versatile. It seems that he can only be played in one position. That's another reason why I'd keep Weimann at the moment.
Rovers13
Believe it or not Con, there is more to how good a player is than how many assists or goals they get in 7 premiership games. I know this must be shocking.

Shillzz
Don't think Mata suits yanited personally. He plays an intricate game best suited to small pitches and possession football. United play counter attacking football on the league's biggest pitch.

Incidentally, United's is only the third biggest pitch (Etihad and KC are bigger) but it's only 6 yards longer and 2 yards wider than Stamford Bridge
Con
What it means is, Barcelona plays an intricate game with lots of highly-skilled short players like Juan Mata who like possession football. The suggestion Mata would prefer small pitches is baseless. Man Utd's pitch is perfectly suited for Mata, just needs the right tactics and some quality players brought in around him. Gotcha , I thought it was in response to Shillz saying United's was the biggest pitch in the league. Fwiw I agree. The difference in pitch sizes at top flight clubs is negligible, imo. They've not had a player "like" him since Ronaldo, as good as Van Persie is Mata will win them games on his own. He could well carry them to 4th. VillaChris
Trouble is Chelsea struggled to win plenty of games under AVB and Benitez when Mata was in superb form so it's not like he'll come in and inspire United to win 16/16, they'll still drop points and lose games. Amusing me how Chelsea are stalling this now so looks unlikely he'll play v Cardiff on Tuesday and so he'll have a nice gentle introduction at the Britannia next Saturday. Mr_Dogg
I don't understand the scepticism around this signing, he's awesome, he'll improve them big time. He's not the CM they need but he's 10 times better than the players they've been enduring with Rooney and RVP out.
