Used over six gallons of fake blood. Diana Rigg regards it as her best film and Vincent Price said it was his favourite of all the films he made. But this is the film I'd put forward Dead Man's Shoes (2004) A disaffected soldier returns to his hometown to get even with the thugs who brutalized his mentally-challenged brother years ago. Nevermind the greatest English film, this is the greatest film ever, in my opinion. And if you haven't seen it I'd recommend you seek it out. Me and two mates, bikers, leather gear, helmets...gets inside and its full of parka-wearing mod tossers Strangely they didn't make any trouble... You can go back to the kitchen sink dramas of the 50s and 60s which was a great era of British films Room at the Top was a brilliant film Saturday Night Sunday Morning The lowliness of a long distance runner A taste of Honey Cathy come home, not strictly a film but brilliant social drama by Ken Loach and featuring the beautiful Carol White who tragically died so young Then in the 70s you have a clockwork Orange which may look tame now but at the time was groundbreaking The Whicker Man is a classic which made Edward woodward into a legend Theatre of Blood, witchfinder general, other films get Carter, The Italian job, Naked, This is England, Great Expectations, The Hitchcock 39 steps, The Servant, the Night Porter.Lawrence of Arabia. educating Rita, Don't really like the modern ones too much because they are too violent.
