Best Bond movie/actor/theme

Goldeneye

Connery

Diamonds are Forever

Goldfinger and the Casino Royale theme came close to being my favourite movie & theme. I like the Daniel Craig movies but I just don't think he looks like how Bond should be. Blond, not handsome, no charm, there's something that doesn't feel right for me. Looking forward to Skyfall though.

Craig all the way , as I've said in previous Bond films you wouldn't have Austin Powers if Bond was Casino Royale onwards .. The double take pigeons in Venice etc may have raised a laugh at the time but look cringeworthy when you see the films since the reboot

Saw I read an article the other week that said The Quantum of Solace theme was voted the best Bond theme ? Probably view to a kill for me but I'm not a huge fan of any of the bond themes

Sounds like Skyfall could be the best yet but until I've seen it I'll vote for Casino Royale

I still don't think any of them are gritty enough, and I don't mean like Bond having his balls bashed in Casino Royale, I mean the dirty side of espionage. It has always been a bit too clean cut a pursuit for me to truly believe in it. Although I admittedly have a natural inclination to murky plots and cynical characters.

I've also always struggled with Bond's motivation. He's always been a two-dimensional character.

So I think the Craig films come closest to getting it right but they are still a long way off ideal.

Casino Royale for me.

A View To A Kill

Moore & Connery

A View To A Kill

Best car: S1 Lotus Esprit

Best villain actor: Christopher Walken

Best Bond Girl: Akiko Wakabayashi (You Only Live Twice)

Best location: Paris

Best stunt: Ski Jump (TSWLM)

Most memorable line: "What are you, some kinda doomsday machine, boy?" (Live and Let Die)

Most tensest moment: Bond hanging over edge of cliff as the rope's pitons get knocked out (For Your Eyes Only)

You only live twice

All the time in the world

and Connery

Although I thought Dalton was a good Bond, in not so great films.

Also fond both of Craig's films so far incredibly dull. Solace particularly, was an utter abomination.

Most are crap

Goldeneye was above average

Casino Royale is the best

I enjoyed Quantum of Solace very much

I think the above shows I am not a bond fan at all, arguably one of the worst 'series' of films ever, all my own opinion of course.

Film: Casino Royale

Actor: Daniel Craig

Theme: Tomorrow Never Dies (vastly underrated)

It's weird for me. I haven't seen all the bond films, but I've seen a lot. I think a lot depends on era.

When I think of James Bond, I think of Pierce Brosnan without fail. Must be because I grew up with him as the current Bond. Just as I used to think Goldeneye was the best Bond.

But I really do think Craig is the best Bond. He, and the recent films in general, are exactly how I think Bond should be. Before that he'd almost become a parody of himself. Die Another Day was painfully awful.

The reboot is the best thing to happen to the Bond films, and Craig being such a good Bond is one of the main reasons for that.

you only live twice

connery

the spy who loved me (nobody does it better...)

and IMO after watching it again on thursday is "its quite alright, we have all the time in the world..." is the best scene in any bond film

christopher lee is the best villain

best location is the volcano from YOLTb

best stunt is the screwball car jump in DAF

ive got huge hopes for skyfall, IMO there is a danger that they are going the way of the brosnan films where they just become a poorer version of the previous film, bardem is a great bit of casting which makes me believe that wont happen, QofS didnt have a strong enough story and had too many chase / action scenes, im also hoping that the shanghai scenes are good because the clip where he is taking up a sniper position with the city lights behind him look amazing

Goldfinger

Sean Connery

Diamonds are Forever

Best Villain: Blofeldt (played by several actors).

I actually think Daniel Craigs 'Bond' lends more to the character in the books than the others (except Connery, who was made for the role). He is a flawed character, which I think is clearly evidenced in the latest offerings and fairly dark. But each actor has brought something different to the role and theres been some classic one-liners.

Very much my take. As I said upthread, I'd love to see the Fleming books filmed in a 50s milieu (complete with the supercharged Bentley), with Craig as Bond. Won't happen, though. :(

Love Moby's cover of the classic Bond theme.

Fave film? Hard to choose, but I really like Goldeneye, Goldfinger, Dr No & Casino Royale.

Best Bond? Connery or Craig.

Best Car? The DB5, obviously. While anybody who disagrees about that one is perfectly entitled to their wrong opinion, I have to stress just how wrong they are.

Just look at it.
