Either way, you're still booing we have some idiot fans No need to boo it at all. I don't always agree with subs but I have never ever ever ever booed our own players. There is a poison at Villa Park, fans who think they have the right to boo our own - and then wonder why we don't perform and use that as an excuse to boo. Idiots.
dn1982
Any fan that boos a player should go home and boo at the radio instead!! We have some idiotic fans but I thought we'd lose them once we hit relegated it seems not!!! Muppets

Because of a comment in the January transfer thread I checked when Ashley's currently contract expires. It seems that in August 2015 we gave him a new 5 YEAR CONTRACT. 5 blinking years only signed last year. And guess what, at the time he signed this he was STILL CONTRACTED TILL 2017 ANYWAY. I mean what the hell were they thinking? Why offer another 5 years two years ahead of the contract being Up? I understand that for a top star especially if they cost a lot of money and you don't want to lose them for free but Ashley Westwood. What the Hell? Popular Post markavfc40
It is pathetic that some people again booed today and it just made me clap even louder to try to drown out those that did. What do people think it will achieve? We were winning the game and he was coming on for an injured player to help us see the game out. If you aren't happy with him coming on fine but just keep your mouths shut and do nothing as booing certainly won't enhance the chances of him putting in a decent performance. As it was he did alright and worked hard in closing Blackburn down and played a part in helping us see out the game. For now with the lack of options we have in midfield he will have a part to play so I'd suggest those that don't rate him when at the games, at least until he does something during the game to warrant criticism, then lay off him. Popular Post JAMAICAN-VILLAN
Very good article! http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-opinion-fans-would-12133653? Quote Aston Villa opinion: Why some fans would be better off at the Bullring than Villa Park Give your heads a wobble if you were one of these Aston Villa 'fans' On the day Aston Villa were relegated, a claret and blue footballer had his head in hands. More so than most he looked visibly drained, weighing up the enormity of Villa's passing from the Premier League. That player was Ashley Westwood, always one of the players to applaud the fans and put in an honest and hardworking shift. You can bet he wasn't one of the players ringing his agent up to engineer a move. A steady player who gets a lot of stick for probably one too many sideways passes. On paper he is consistently one of Villa's better performers. 'Mr Steady', doing the simple things but not the spectacular ones, his form hasn't been great, but neither has anyone's before Steve Bruce. He has quickly become a scapegoat and needs to show he has a place in this Villa side. You only have to look at the Mile Jedinak transformation to see how a player deemed a 'waste of money' by some fans, can suddenly look spot-on in a balanced confident midfield. Steve Bruce will give Westwood his chance, he is fan of a decent player and an honest human being. He also knows whether players can hack it or not, that's a decision that will take time. One thing that is clearer than anything else is that the section of Villa supporters booing Westwood ONTO the pitch, should probably find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon. In what world is that going to have a positive effect? Support your players, even if you don't like them. He hasn't shown mutinous tendencies, or a lack of desire and hard work. Everyone pays their money to watch a game of football, and yes they are allowed to collectively boo their team when they under-perform. What shouldn't happen is the booing of one of their own players turning up for work and to do his best for the shirt. If that's what attending Villa Park is all about for you, perhaps you would be better off at Primark on a Saturday afternoon. Football isn't for you. That just isn't the Villa way.

Villan_of_oz Posted November 5, 2016 VT Supporter Share Posted November 5, 2016 (edited) Hearing that so called 'fans' booed him today when we were 2-1 up makes me glad that I live thousands of miles away and cant go to games, because i would no doubt get in much trouble. I would love a booer to fess up on VT and explain their actions but I'm sure they only do when they can in a cowardly way.
