Must be novel for N'Zogbia not to be the biggest C unit to have played on the wing for a club.

An adjective and, coincidentally, the new address for his predecessor.

He is on trial at Sunderland. Didn't even hear about this till today. He actually somehow captained Sunderland in a friendly when he is on trial... I guess sunderland really want to go down. Even some of their fans are saying that he didn't do much on the pitch, but having a veteran type around the club would be good. Do they know nothing of Charles??

There are simple laws that govern football which are universally excepted.

• If Tony Pulis sells you a defender, that defender is shot.

• If José becomes your manager, enjoy the first 18 months, it will go and pear shaped shortly after.

• If you support Liverpool, this will definitely be your year.

• If you sign Nzogbia you get relegated.

That's unusual. Unless it was a team of U21 type players?

He played the 2nd half when Sunderland fielded a whole new XI, but the first half was pretty much Sunderland's regulars, so I assume at least a few were playing in the second half as well. Just seems strange to give the guy the armband even in a friendly.

Wigan or Newcastle never did when he played for them

amazingly they both went down soon enough after he left and Villa did same when we just stopped playing him. maybe he is a bizarre lucky charm

With a bit of luck Sunderland will test that theory :P

He's not shit, he just can't be bothered. I'm not sure if that's better or worse.

He's shit AND he can't be bothered.

I'd say he's the worst signing Villa have ever made.
