If Wigan can't beat Arsenal away then we're safe. Draw won't be good enough, they're 5 points behind with 2 to play.

....what?

They draw against Arsenal and we're safe.

I said that!

That is what he said. He just said it in a ridiculously confusing way.

What are the permutations now then?

For Villa go down the following MUST happen:

Wigan take 5 points more than us from Arsenal (A), Villa (H)

AND

Sunderland take 2 more points than us from  Southampton (H), Spurs (A)

AND

Newcastle take 2 more points than us from QPR (A), Arsenal (H)

AND

Norwich take 2 more points than us from WBA (H), Man City (A)

AND

Southampton take 1 more point than us from Sunderland (A), Stoke (H)

AND

Fulham take the same amount of points as us from Liverpool (H), Swansea (A)

AND

Stoke take no less than one point more than us from Spurs (H), Southampton (A)

As always, if one of those things doesn't happen, we can't be relegated

...and so it came to pass that it had all been nothing more than a bad dream, a sound nights sleep was had by all and the very next day the plotting of a route forward to a brighter future began.

Goodnight children.
