Confirmed: Paul Lambert new Villa boss

Do people think things like the training facilities and academy, would influence a managers choice whether to come to us?

Absolutely.

Yes of course. We may see them at the weekend at Villa Park, but Bodymoor Heath is their place of work. It's where they are most of the time. And if a manager is planning on being here for any decent length of time then things like the academy, training facilities and the infrastructure make his job easier. It's not the only factor of course. There has to be things like ambition and funding from the board, not to mention a good working relationship with the board, but does the academy and facilities influence someone? Absolutely yes they do.

Not wishing to have a ruck with you guys but there's confusion over the bigger club debate.

Yes, you're a bigger club, to argue you're not is silly, but better?

That will influence Lambert in his choice.

There is no debate, there is no confusion. We have never been out of the premier league, you have been in and out like porn star on his stag night.

I won`t mention the european cup, thats in the past.

Where do you think we train, in a sandpit?

Colney, our training ground, is a state of the art, International standard training facility, plus our acedemy is an A class one.

Factor in the Norfolk lifestyle and we have a hell of lot to offer.

Damn, I'm sounding desperate now. :bonk:

Your obviously worried about it, hence why your hear, i can understand it as we have seen our players move onto bigger things. I think it's a question for Paul, if he wants a bigger, challenge, bigger club then he'll move simple no matter what you or MON says. If he feels he needs to be loyal to Norwich which he might then he'll stay. I think it's a very tight call and i think either way, neither club should feel embarrassment about it as you'd understand the reasoning. But i am getting sick to death of hearing Wigan, to a lesser extent Wigan go on talking about AVFC like we're some half arsed club, we've had it bad last year, could have been much worse, but we are still here and it can only get better.

C'mon mate, you've had a good season.. but thats it. We have had a bad couple of seasons, due to our poor choice in manager - who is now gone. Apart from the last 2 seasons we were up there in the top 8 consistently, even spoke of as top 4 contenders on a regular basis.

Obviously we are both going to be looking at this through claret and blue or yellow and green tinted glasses. Ask a neutral who is the bigger or better club..

allso like to add, that the first bad season we finished 9th, that is the difference in teams and aims, I know if i had a chance (even without villa glasses on) i would seriously think about coming here hoping i could relight the fire and make villa great again

Unless he has a season ticket at Pleasurewood Hills (in Suffolk) there is nothing appealling about Norfolk.

Agreed on all that esp the wigan bit. A disaster of a season for us last year would be classed as success for Wigan

Sorry mentioned Wigan twice mean't to say Norwich to a lesser extent. But we had Mr Whelan say Martinez will go to a bigger club than AVFC or WBA. Hang on Mr Whelan, Martinez hasn't even achieved what Bruce did? Finish in the top half, but you let Bruce go to Sunderland!

SeanO may just be the first person ever to start a statement with "No disrespect to...but..." and then not actually show disrespect :)

lol, I honestly didn't mean any disrespect but it may have come across that way so to our Norwich City fans I apologise if it did.

Now put PL in a taxi one way to Aston and let Lerner work his $, sorry magic on him hahaha
