Maybe some mugs will pay 50m for gallagher but other than that which players can they sell 8th highest revenue in the world even with no Champions League football. Managed to spend most of that money spread over 8 years before UEFA changed the rules. £800m spent over 8 years is only £100m a year, not even a quarter of their annual revenue. They’ll be fine for a while longer, but yes eventually they’ll have to stop spending.

The longer with no CL football they wont be able to function as a club with all the high wages Most of their younger players that were worth alit have been sold on and who will they sell on for profit? Mudryk? Jackson? Curella? They are a few examples of plywrs they spent too much money on and wont sell on for FFP Also a 100m a season is a **** lot for aclub with no CL football They are deep shit Edited December 11, 2023 by Demitri_C
villa4europe
It's wishful thinking dem, their revenue is huge because over the last 20 years while the PL has seen insane growth in global audiences Chelsea have been the most successful team They'll take the £80-100m hit due to no CL and probably won't be able to spend £400m next summer but their revenue will still be 3x ours, that's the head start that they have, their advantage over the other 14 is monstrous Just like man utd and arsenal they'll have a bad few years and then be competing again and those bad few years will still be finishing in European spots and getting to cup finals We just need to make hay while the sun shines because they'll be back

They will move on from Chelsea soon enough and that revenue will plummet if they fail to get European football for the next two seasons which is looking highly likely. Depends how long until Boehly gets bored of not winning and goes back to the US sports.

It will drop rather than plummet And the lead they have over the likes of us is huge, we would do well to catch them in the next 10 years and that's with us having CL and them not The shirt deal they've just signed with no CL is 4x ours
HanoiVillan
The better reason for optimism with regard to Chelsea is that they do not seem to have found a way to turn their undeniable spending power into purchases that actually help them win football matches, and it's far from guaranteed that this situation will change. If we end up in a position where we can offer CL football, we may be able to attract quality players even though they can offer higher wages. We don't need to worry about them having tons of money if they're giving Brighton £60m+ for every guy who looks good in their system.

Their squads **** massive and all their newbies must be on huge wages. I bet chuck alone is on close to 100k a week so cant imagine how much the high end players are on. Also the fact that alot of these players are on 6-8 contracts how will they move the ones that are not good enough on? None of them will want to go they getting paid and can sit cushy for years. I think they going to be in massive trouble unless their saudi mates bail them out of course
villa89
Almost certain not to have CL football again next season. That's going to leave a huge hole in the budget. Pretty much every player they have bought is worth less than they paid them. In big trouble. Sob on the Stamford.

Its the huge transfer fees thats spread over the contract term [8 years] thats helped them with FFP Source Click

sne
Generally a player bought for £70m-£100m would expect to be on at least Grealish money so £270k/w-£350k/w. The more recent big Chelsea signings are on a fair bit less than that but as mentioned on long contracts. Low salaries is relative. They are obviously still making bank. rodders0223
They're got a dozen garbage footballers on 100k a week for the next 5 - 7 years and no movability in the FFP market and dwindling attraction and prestige. They're as clueless off the pitch as Birmingham City for the past 10 years. They're as lost as you could possibly be. Yeah...they're absolutely fine. As last Man United generate a huge amount of cash. They're getting away with it. Chelsea are completely ****. Oil tanker comes to mind.
sne
Good thing for them that Boehly has Saudi backing and they have a easy way to generate funds through the Saudi league transfers. Edited December 11, 2023 by sne

They already control FIFA and having Chelsea in their pocket is leverage once the next Super League vote comes. I don't think Newcastle winning the PL or CL is their end goal. They think bigger.
