Squad for the Czech Republic game

Goalkeepers: Shay Given (Aston Villa), Keiren Westwood (Sunderland), David Forde (Millwall)

Defenders: John O'Shea (Sunderland), Stephen Kelly (Fulham), Stephen Ward (Wolves), Richard Dunne (Aston Villa), Sean St Ledger (Leicester), Darren O'Dea (Leeds), Kevin Foley (Wolves)

Midfielders: Glenn Whelan (Stoke), James McCarthy (Wigan), Seamus Coleman (Everton), Keith Andrews (West Brom), Keith Fahey (Birmingham), Darron Gibson (Everton) Damien Duff (Fulham), Aiden McGeady (Spartak Moscow), Stephen Hunt (Wolves)

Forwards: Robbie Keane (Aston Villa), Kevin Doyle (Wolves), Shane Long, Simon Cox (both West Brom), Jon Walters (Stoke)

Shame that McClean didn't get the call up, or Clark. Both are more good enough to be in that squad in my eyes.

think this Mcclean hype is just that. he has only played 8 games at a high level and needs to prove himself consistently. He will probably be a Championship player in 18 months time.

like the Andy Reid situation I trust Trappatoni more than others

Couldn't disagree more. The flip side is that in only 8 games McClean has become one of the most important players in that Sunderland team. If anything's going to happen, it's that he's only going to get better than he already is. I trust Trap too and I fully expect McClean to be in the Ireland side sooner or later.
