Qwpzxjor1
I'm afraid I don't rate this lad. Fair enough. I do. Now lets fight to the death!
VillaGoMarching
I wouldn't consider him to be a starter but he is a useful squad player given the fact he can play in various positions. He also always gives 110%. i rate him. I agree, he could probably go off and have himself a decent career at any lower tier prem club (us), love the intensity he plays at. AndyBM
as ive already said, i prefer him over westwood, at the moment as the chosen defenisve mid, however, if westwood keeps improving, then herd will still be a very good back up DM
Grogan_Avfc
^ Lambert plays 2 DM's mate. Herd & Westwood is my first choice pairing, and for me Herd was one of the only positives at all to come from last season. Think he's a quality player. Shillzz
I wouldn't mind seeing Herd playing alongside Westwood in DM, but not for home games. If we can get away with it, playing Bannan in there would be more beneficial. Westwood starts regardless.
VillaGoMarching
No way would i drop westwood for herd, if anything put them together and move Bannan forward. Although i still think our best midfield trio this year has been Westwood, Bannan and Ireland.
AndyClarke
Fair enough. I do. Now lets fight to the death! Please guys, get this on. A Kingfisher taking on a Giraffe in a suit would be a spectacle to behold.
markavfc40
As part of a back three he was very good today. He stands no **** about and refused to be bullied by the Stoke forwards. Unbelievable leap on him for someone who is maybe 5'10/5'11.

Dr_Pangloss
Herd indeed has a great leap, but it's more than that, he has great timing in the air and that invariably beats raw athleticism.
LockStockVilla
Thought he was brilliant today! Actually looks dangerous making forward runs and has the ability to put in a decent ball. So good to have a player with his versatility and intensity in the squad.
DeepDish
He is a fighter. Has shown it several times. Both against bouncers, Villa's medical staff when getting a concussion and against Stoke thugs!
jon_c
I wouldn't pick him as a regular, but he's the sort of player you need in the squad for when you play teams like Stoke.
CI
I thought Herd did well today, strong and bombed forward a few times.

parisvilla
Gets eaten alive by opposition midfields who press us. Bad first touch, not a great deal of composure and below average passer to boot. No qualms with him playing yesterday though - need that combativeness against Stoke. LockStockVilla
From seeing highlights, it looks like Herd had some good involvement again today, could be a bit of an unsung hero in the 5-3-2...
