hants-villa
It has revelled the level of manager that we are looking at though
quizme
To bad, I would have like Martinez at our club. I guess this will drag on a fair bit longer....
KSV
What a joke.. absolute joke.. cover it up all you like..but he rejected the job. We may have not offered, yet he rejected even wanting the chance to offer.. whether we offered it or not is relevant. A 37 year old Wigan Manager.. rejected the Aston Villa job. Job will now go back to McLaren. What a farce this club has become. He is the only one desperate enough to come. Meanwhile in other news.. we let our best player go for the third season running. Bye Ash. Ugh...... Heres the melt down. Well done Aston Villa FC.
VillaRoy
So surely they could have said this yesterday if we have not spoken to him. Who runs the PR at the club?

lmarsha_926
Roberto's qualities as a young and aspirational manager ensured him of a position high on our short list of potential new managers. Shows they type of man we are after and also says managers so the question is who else is on the li
villadude
I don't give a **** who says what or claims to be in the know about our club, I'm just chuffed that RM won't be our new manager. I think it will be Hughes in July..
TrinityRoadSteps
So from that statement we can gather we asked to speak to Martinez. Martinez had a meeting with Whelen and decided not to talk to us. So we didn't offer him the job. Therefore he hasn't turned down the job.
Valhalla
This is a farce. There is a perfectly good coach who has won things that wants the job! Show some leadership and appoint steve!
bubbadog
I think the statement makes it clear that the media knows **** all. Martinez chose job security over interviewing for a position he probably wouldn't get anyway Borrowed frrom another poster on another site but pretty much sums up the Martinez situation. thetrees
I am disappointed that Martinez has chosen not to pursue our interest in him, but in this day of billy-big time bollocks premiership, it is so nice to see that football still has at least one man of total integrity. Pilchard
Pleased that Martinez isn't going to be our manager. I should hope that whoever we bring in has better top flight experience than finishing 16th twice. Disappointed it's not the end of this.
dundeevilla
Glad Bob is not the man. This manager hunt saga is fast turning into a farce though. Just get it sorted Randy.
wildwood
I'm impressed with our conduct with the media, showing them how crap they really are.
markavfc40
Strange how he didn't even take the opportunity to talk to us. Clearly didn't hold us in the kind of regard we'd want a manager of this great club to so **** him. Must be mad though as how the **** can the Wigan manager turn down the chance of being interviewed for the managers job at Aston Villa

Recircle
This is a farce. A proper farce should stretch out over weeks; this has only been running for a matter of days. It's a farce of a farce. Still, give it time...
