John Charles is the obvious answer, voted Serie A's best foreign player of the 20th century. No mean feat when you consider he was up against the likes of Platini, Maradona, Van Basten, Zidane, Ronaldo (etc).

Other examples off the top of my head? Lineker (Barcelona) McManaman (Real Madrid) Souness (Sampdoria)

Away from Italy and Spain there is Chris Waddle (Marseilles, where he was voted their second best player of the 20th century behind Papin) Kevin Keegan won the Ballon d'Or twice in a row at Hamburg and Paul Lambert won the Champions League with Dortmund in 1997.

Drogba officially leaving Chelsea. Not a bad way to go out, easily the greatest player in the club's history.

arguably Lampard has been better

but

Zola says Hi as well ....

Has to be Drogba purely for his big goals in particualr goals in cup finals. Lampard a close second. Zola... was a very good player but don't class him as anything that special to be honest. Very nice and likable chap.
