The_Rev
I'm not sure that will affect relations between the two clubs these days. It was Pornodwarf and the werewolf in charge back then.

Demitri_C
foster will be a good buy. i would rather sell friedel and get foster in (i love friedel but he is close to 40) long term we need someone younger. for 4m be a bargin i think nzogbia, i think tehy should try get about 10m for him. he has a bad attitude but can be good on his day. not in ashley youngs class though at all
Zatman
Foster will be average IMO. Will be like when we had Carson
The_Rev
I still dont think Foster is that great. He just happens be on the books at Manchester United. I'd rather keep Friedel for the final year of his contract and think again next summer, whether that is Guzan or a new player is something we have a year to decide. AVFC-Prideofbrum
Foster is awful. Swapping him for Hart is probably losing them 8-10 points in my opinion. No over-reaction. I think the gap between them is massive.
Davies4England
Everton apparently had a (£12m?) bid for Jan Vertonghen rejected. Very good player, I think he'd set his sights higher then an Everton/us though. Spurs also apparently close to signing Arda Turan, never seen him play but apparently a very talented wide player. Do they really need another? As SSN reported, Man City in talks with Boateng, very good centre back, but I've heard he's been wanted for RB. They're also linked with David Luiz I really hope they don't get him, he's too good for them tbh.
Mister_Master
Anderson could emerge as a key figure in Manchester United's attempts to pip Real Madrid for the signature of £38million-rated Benfica winger Angel di Maria. Anderson was great when he played for Porto. But just Anderson and 10£...

BOF Posted May 18, 2010 Moderator Share Posted May 18, 2010 If Foster was any good Utd would not be letting him go. Foster is good. Probably not 'United' good but that's hardly a criticism. He certainly hasn't progressed the way I thought he would though that's for sure.
The_Steve
"It is important that players come here for the right reasons," the Italian told reporters. "A player may go to a club because they are in the Champions League. But then that club gets knocked out in the group stages - and they are in the same situation as us. "I think the important thing is the project. We have a big project for the future here. "That's why I believe that if a player chooses Manchester City, they have made a fantastic choice, even though we will not be in the Champions League next season. "If we had got to fourth place, then all the players would have wanted to come here. "It's possible that some players do not want to come now, but for me, that would be a big mistake - because City are a fantastic club." link Some great quotes from Mancini, players will come to City for the right reasons *cough* huge wages *cough*. It's also really irritating when they refer to themselves as a project.

I don't rate him at all though so I guess it is a somewhat biased view.
TheSufferingVilla
Thierry Henry plays down talk of Red Bulls deal Barcelona forward Thierry Henry has rejected stories that he has agreed in principle to sign a contract with Major League Soccer side New York Bulls. Henry, who seems certain to leave Barcelona this summer after a disappointing season with the La Liga champions, was widely reported in the US media on Monday to have already agreed to put pen to paper. It was suggested that Henry will sign for the Red Bulls after the World Cup, with Henry in the French squad for the tournament in South Africa. But Henry wants to concentrate on the World Cup before considering his next move in club football. "For the moment, nothing is certain," Henry told AS. "I am a Barcelona player and have another year left on my contract. "Currently, my only worry is preparing for the World Cup with France. I will have time to reflect on my future later." The stories were fuelled by comments from Barcelona director general Joan Oliver, who had said that reports that Henry would sign for a United States club "were not completely wrong". The 32-year-old still has a year remaining on his contract at Barca but the Spanish club are prepared to allow him to leave for free. ESPN It is effectively a done deal but they wont announce it "officially" until after the World Cup. I'm not sure how to feel about it. On one hand I'm a Red Bulls season ticket holder who wants to see good football in a packed stadium and an Henry/Angel partnership will bring in the goals and fill the seats. On the other hand.....
