chappy
Great game and great performance by Willey toward the end. I bet N McCullum isn't too popular in the NZ changing room tonight!
PaulC
Theres some positive momentum but lets not get carried away. We've beaten one nation who wern't at full strength compared to the world cup. Lets see what we do against the Aussies and then in the UAE on the slower wickets before I think we have something here.
Avfc96
Great victory tonight, we did increadibly well to defend such a small target. Mentions to the spin trio who I thought all did well, along with Gordon for his 3 wickets.
PaulC
Yes although Patel didn't do very well considering the conditions. I thought we out seamed them and they out spun us. Gordon was brilliant. That Penultimate over won us the match. 3 runs and 2 wickets off that over. You dont get better than that. veloman
That was a bit close, I could hardly watch; but agreed with comments re. Recordo Gordon - a superb display. However, I am contemplating starting a petition to prevent that spike-nosed get Lloyd from commentating on ANY cricket, let alone matches featuring Lancashire. His inane comments, limited grasp of English Grammar(That were a great shot!) and comedic comments to rival the Chuckle Brothers drive me mad. Up in the same league as Trevor Francis.
dAVe80
I sat in a curry house on a leaving do, refreshing my phone, and not talking to anyone. I let out a big shout of, "Get the **** in!" No one seemed to care, even when I tried to explain how good it was that we managed to defend such a low score. Philistines!

wazzap24
However, I am contemplating starting a petition to prevent that spike-nosed get Lloyd from commentating on ANY cricket WHAT!? No freaking way dude, he's the best thing about Sky's coverage! I wish Sky would steal Aggers or vice versa with the Beeb and Bumble. Them two commentating together would be almost as good as listening to Peter Allis doing the Golf!
PaulC
Actually I'm with Veloman, whilst Bumble is funny, but i think he does it overdoes it, and whilst he was an opening batsman for Lancs, Umpire and England chief coach, he's not really very knowledgeable about the current game. Agnew is a brilliant commentator, the best radio commentator by a mile as long as thats all his does and leaves his opinions for people who know about the game. Swann is great, Strauss gave us a lot of insight when commentating on sky. Tufnell I cant stand. boycott is interesting. Doesn't care what he says and thats good. To be honest theres not much about the sky commetatory team I like. Nasar is ok I guess. Botham boring, Knight I love as a person but is as dull as dish water, Then theres grumpy willis and I hate Bumble when he waffles on about his garden, talks to a member of the crowd and cracks jokes about accrington and Manchester. PaulC
I was wrong about leg spinners. Pakistan's Yasir Shah has become the fastest pakistan bowler to 50 wickets. No wonder they are not too bothered about Ajmal anymore.

lapal_fan
Without wanting to be bad luck, Lawrie Evans is on 188 and going well for his 1st double ton (I think). Been at the crease for 7 hours now!
PaulC
Great for him, its obviously the flattest of wickets but this should give him some confidence for the rest of the season, after being unfairly dropped from the 4 day side last season i thought, given what he did in 2013, He should stick at 5 not be moved up the order when Hain comes back. I'm a a fan or Laurie. I think we stuck with Porterfield too long in the 4 day game. He should just be given a one day contract. Not sure Javid will make it though. We also had a record 6th wicket partnership for Warwickshire Edited July 1, 2015 by PaulC
lapal_fan
I like Lawrie in the T20 format, much like Clarke he comes in and makes things happen. Played very well against Yorkshire on Fathers Day. I don't know much about him though, but he seems sensible and he's good with the kids when he's in outfield Edit; He's made it! PaulC
He came here from Surrey at 21. He had to wait his time to get his chance. Ashley never gave him a go and when he did get a chance in the 4 day game he scored nearly 1000 runs. He was starting to be labelled as just a t20 specialist which he isn't. He's a proper player.
