Woakes has a batting average of over 50 and has taken 18 wickets over two tests. Quite something

Similar to Bell in the 2013 Ashes, I can see him picking up no man of the match awards, but getting man of the series.

England have a decent side. They just need to get rashid in (when needed) and bump ballance out of the team. Vince has been woeful and looks like a 20-20 player in test cricket but if they can teach him how to play test cricket properly then he might do okay. With Bairstow, Stokes, Ali and Woakes they have a lot of batting down the order and Root and Cook at the top everything is looking pretty rosy.

Oh ffs, Ballance has got a half century, now he'll get picked again, the prick ;)

Decent knock in difficult circumstances.

In other (unsurprising) news, Chopra has left Warwickshire for Essex.  Think he'll do well there and in an interview reiterated his desire to get into the national team. Good luck Chops!

My favourite fielder/McCullum wannabe Lewis has gone on loan to Northants.. bit of a strange one.. He did well in the One Day a couple of days ago in our demolition of Yorkshire on "Yorkshire Day"... :puke:

We have so many crash bang wallop players like Hales and Vince, we need some gritty players like Ballance. I think the partnership between him and Moeen has tilted the game Englands way. I'd be surprised if Anderson and Woakes dont bowl them out for under 250.

I was actually there yesterday and it was a great day out.

Actually my first live game. It was a good atmosphere, nice weather most of the time. I saw wickets, some partnerships and a 50. Many beers were drank and I look forward to going again soon.

Have got tickets for Saturday, how much play do you think we'll see?

Good fightback this afternoon from England, from a pretty ominous position to first get Pakistan out for 400, then wipe of the deficit without loss was a good bit of work. They need to bat tomorrow out, which if they do would put them on around 400 plus. game is finely ballanced hopefully were in for a couple of good days play.

Petering out to a draw. Good England batting today and nice to see Moeen in a bit of form

However, can't see England getting 10 wickets tomorrow

I dont know I have seen Pakistan implode a few times. Great partnership between Bairstow and Moeen. I think its time they selected Moeen as a specialist batsman and a second spinner, particularly with the two series against Bangladesh and India coming up. He's plays spin so well when he's not wreckless.
