The Serbian Film - Just don't, haunted me for days after i saw glimpses of it.

I've heard about that one. Sounds like a very disturbing film. Won't bother.

Lilya 4eva is fantastic. I got the Moodysson-box with 3 of his other movies, all of which are very good - including **** Amal

Had no idea it was the same dude, might have to give it a watch then as I saw **** Åmål years back and it was an absolutely brilliant film.

Just read the plot. Unbelievable that people have the mindset to even write such things, let alone take part in the production of such a film.

Exploitative trash dressed up in a weak social statement which is somehow an excuse for showing ott gratuitous violence and rape.

Belongs in the same 'break in case of a labotomy' as shite like the August Underground series.

Torture porn basically. The sort of stuff that really boils my piss (and then presumably tips it into someones ocular cavity).

Truly cannot get any more disturbing believe me. Surely the director should have some tests done to see if he's sane. A mate of mine Torrented it and still regrets it to this day.

On a nicer note: Battle LA - Awesome film, considering the bad reviews of it being cliche i thought it was awesome, definitely not the worst 'Alien Invasion' film i've ever seen, that has to go to Skyline.

Babyfuck, babyfuck! Its awwwwrite~

...hopefully the reference won't be wasted on all :?

They're very, very different but yes do see Lilya 4-eva. Some critic said that the film is like being punched in the stomach continually for 90 minutes. Gutwrenching stuff...everytime there is a brief glimpse of hope for the main character/s its completely shat on. And when the next time glimpse of hope comes around that is shat on from an even greater height.

Designers observation above, about the ending being comforting, is a very good one though. It's not like Irreversible or Salo, for example, were the ending tops off the preceding horrors and you end up feeling like you don't want to see it again for a very very long time.

Watched king of comedy again last night, i believe this is scorcese's best film, brilliant cast, brilliant premise and just an absolute 10/10 film for me.

Totally agree. I mean I think there's room in film for shocking stuff like 'Martyrs' but some of the stuff I've read in that plot will be playing on my mind, that's for sure. Disgusting.

It's brilliant isn't it? The ending just has to go down as one of my favourites ever too. It's a pity he's lowered himself (De Niro) to making shite like the Fockers movies for the last decade or so instead of doing something more worthwhile. His last really good performance imo, apart from a decent couple of cameos was in Flawless and that was 1999. The James Milner of cinema.

Never watched A Serbian Film or Salo, never will. Martys was enough for me.

Regarding Lilya the worst part of the film for me was the guy who made her do the roleplay as if she was his daughter, very disturbing...

I've seen August Underground.

I say I've seen it, I watched about 5 minutes before I had to turn off in disgust.

Trash.

You can do violence and disturbing films well (Irreversible is a great film, but highly disturbing, for example), but that is just absolute shite.

I was going to post this. Didn't have a clue what it was about before I watched it other than it was a psychological thriller. Bit of a shocker.

Matthew Vaughn wont **** it up imo, it will be solid.

Fox are trying the upmost to **** up the marketing though, by seemingly putting a 12 year old in charge of the posters.

Vaughn has already had a stern word to Fox about them.

I hope he doesn't mess it up. I enjoyed 'Kick-Ass' and 'Layer Cake' but I thought 'Stardust' was poor. I just hope he can bring his best to it. Apparently it will have a 'Bond' film feel, which may work. I'm just concerned about the whole tie-in to the Cuban Missiles Crisis and how that will play out. Plus I'm not convinced by some of the character choices, or the time period, being that it is supposed to be a prequel to the original X-Men films. The ages would make no sense...

As i suspected, its not half bad... ;)

I absolutely loved Stardust, it's just a fantastic family film that even the presence of Ricky Gervais can't ruin.

I watched The Lincoln Lawyer the other night, thought it was the best film I've seen Matthew "I can't stand up unassisted" McConaughey. Not that I've studied his work per se. But the film was a decent watch.

I also watched The Adjustment Bureau. Not sure how I feel about it to be honest. I gave up halfway through and watched the second half the next day. I was a bit bored, or just not in the right mood! I think if you're up for it then it's not a bad film.
