We miss his organisation but more than that we miss his ability to head the ball. Both Pau and Carlos were shocking today and Konsa and Digne weren’t much better.

misses Bournemouth as well. While it might benefit us for the Lille games, it's a loss, going to be relying a lot on McGinn to cover

Pau was very poor today. He was shocking. Diego wasn't much better but that's one of the worst performances I've seen from Pau. Even his passing was off and that's one of his strengths.

The odd thing is, they were fine for most of the match, but you just cannot legislate for that inexplicable 10 minutes.

I wish I knew. Maybe need to address the psychology of it, maybe bring in a specialist to deal with concentration issues.

I do think we lack a natural leader though. Love McGinn as a player but he may just not be mentally strong enough for the captaincy.

Truth is it may just be down to being shocking in defence. We've put so much work into the high line and playing out from the back that we've neglected basic defensive skills.

If only I knew the answer

Fail to qualify this year and he will be one of several who are looking to move to a club with "big team mentality". That's why the result is not okay.

Can’t work out what I am more miserable about - conceding 3 goals in 10 minutes to bloody Brentford or rendering our league position much more vulnerable (probably fatally so) to bloody Spurs.

Definitely a London shaped dark cloud overhead this evening.

And yet only Liverpool have conceded fewer points this season having taken the lead in a match (4 points dropped).  We are second (5 points dropped).  I'd hate to imagine what some people would be saying if we'd dropped 20 points from a leading position (Spurs) or 13 points (Man Utd).   Even Man City have dropped 10 points from leading positions so we are literally twice as good as them in this regard.  This fixation with us throwing points away when we are leading is complete horse****.

We have dropped 5 points from a leading position.  Arsenal have dropped 9.  Man City have dropped 10.  Spurs have dropped 20.  Man Utd have dropped 13.

I am frustrated with today's result.  But we're in danger of turning this into an issue that doesn't really exist.

Just a crazy ten.minutes lost us all three points. We were in total control then they score a flukey first goal and we fell yo pieces thankfully Watkins got the goal to at least get a point. 4th is Tottenhams of they want it. We are another point closer to 5th is one way of looking at it

49 goals conceded in 32 games, we only conceded 46 goals in the whole of last season. We're probably going to end up conceding close to 60 goals this season which is awful.

 

Teams that concede that amount of goals just don't fulfil their objectives.

 

Edit: I'm not saying 5th place is below our objectives, it's still a veery good season, but it feels disappointing given 4th was in our hands and we look to have blown it against bloody Brentford.

5th place is a certainty if not 4th. Ain't no way United are getting anything above 6th. Europa League would still be an achievement from where we have come.

Our goal difference this season is +17.  Our goal difference last season was +5.  Yes our defending for those 10 minutes this afternoon was poor.  But how many times have we played our Best 4 defenders this season?  (The answer is 0).
