Popular Post TomC
After 31 years of supporting Villa I've finally made the pilgrimage. Arrived in Brum tonight with the family. We're doing the Villa Park tour tomorrow morning and will be at the match on Saturday. I gave up predictions long ago but I'm predicting a 3-1 win in our honour. The thread is locked now, but if any contributors to the 2021-22 Villa Park Pilgrimage thread are reading this, thanks for all the wonderful advice. We've got a lot planned in Brum and the surrounding area for the next four days.
Popular Post Stevo985 Posted April 3 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted April 3 This is a far more important game than the City game. Win this and we're in great shape
BOF Posted April 3 Moderator Share Posted April 3 The attack will take care of itself. It's our defence that needs a good game here. Keep out Toney and Mbeumo. Not much left after that. Job almost done. I'd give Zaniolo a start left wing. But let's see if Ollie makes it up front. If not then Duran is probably enough wildcards for one game. Fairly confident for this one though. As good a shift as Brentford put in at home, they're not nearly as effective away. Basically, if we don't win this then we don't deserve CL.

Leeroy
Must win after that shit show tonight. Need Martinez, Watkins, Ramsey and McGinn back ideally, but either way we have to win these games if we want top 4.

This will be a much tougher game than Wolves. They've just dug out two decent draws so getting the resilience back they had last season. I'd take a scrappy 1-0 all day long. Another issue is Luiz is now on 9 bookings and this is actually last game where he gets a two match ban so would be suspended for Arsenal and Bournemouth if he's booked and given their antics in December their players will be fully aware of that. DakotaVilla
Assuming Ramsey is still not fit the big question is who plays to support Luiz, McGinn and Tielemans in midfield. Do we go with Zaniolo or Rogers to match physicality of Brentford or do we play our own game and go with Diaby. I’d probably prefer to start with Diaby as he could win us the game as per wolves.

Chris come on, we have to win four of our last seven games to get over 70 points which should be enough for 4th. Brentford has to be one of those games, unless you see us winning at Arsenal or beating Liverpool. He’s rested players purely for that reason, so we have to get a result now he’s done that. Plus we need to respond to that thrashing yesterday. Luiz needs to be very careful. Hopefully he’s more disciplined than our captain was a few weeks ago because we need him for the run in. Herman22
So glad to have City away trip done. Back to the must win home games again. McGinn back and hopefully Emi and Ollie too. Makes us a different team. All going well the starting line up will be: Emi Konsa Carlos Pau Digne McGinn Luiz Bailey Youri Diaby Watkins 2

DJBOB
Emi Konsa Diego Pau Digne Bailey McGinn Luiz Rogers Diaby Watkins Fairly confident this will be the side given the rotations. Watkins fitness aside, only question would be Rogers who played the full 90 against City. Might see Tielemans instead.

Better for us if he gets clattered and carted off, hopefully severe enough for him to be out of England contention too
