You can't force teams to play to win. What are they supposed to do, pretend to look like they're attacking. If a result suits both teams they're well within their rights to play for it IMO, other teams have had the rest of the season to do what they need to. And I also imagine the fans were perfectly happy to see their teams manage out the required result rather than blow it by letting in an injury time goal. WHY Posted March 30 Share Posted March 30 He played for the penalty, Coufal stopped and Gordon put his leg in to initiate the contact. At normal speed the ref has to give it, VAR can’t really rule it out unless they deemed that Gordon was cheating which they aren’t going to do.
