You could tell that was going to happen from the first minute. Their intensity and pressing was amazing, whilst we just looked half asleep. Really poor from our team. When we actually raised the intensity, they fell apart but we didn’t maintain it.
The amount of stupid fouls we gave away which allowed them to take the sting out of the game was so frustrating. We have very little football intelligence and when things go wrong we revert to stupidity.

Not much else to say really. Bailey was great but i guarantee that he will start in the next match and he will be rubbish. It’s so frustrating.

Please pray for Pau! If ever we needed a player back it’s him. We also really miss Digne. He has been miles better than Moreno this season. Let’s hope they both return soon.

There were a couple of instances early on that stood out.

Both times the ball went into McGinn, and the first one he held on too long and was easily robbed setting newcastle on a counter. Second time he did roll the newcastle player, but then passed it straight out of play.

Not necessarily a criticism of McGinn, but it summed up the sloppiness of us for most of that game

I love McGinn but he was awful in that first half. He got better as the game went on fortunately but it was too little too late today.

Shit, just got back to the car without Martinez could have been even more, really don’t get why unai didn’t make any changes at half time, Bailey was decent again when coming on, sooner we get this new right back in the better, sick of seeing the same from cash cuts inside passes back and when he lost the for the 3rd jogging back

Sigh. Just so disappointing. Perhaps now they’ve had the hiding they have deserved for the last couple of months it can be a kick up the arse, but I’m not hopeful

Man U next at home. 😂

The main problem is everyone seems to have lost form at the same time.

exactly. it's not just diaby, or just luiz or kamara, or JJ, moreno, tielemans, cash etc. it's the fact all of the above and even others have all had a downturn in form at the same time. some are recovering from injuries to be fair but if they're fit to play i struggle to see that as an excuse unless they've been out for months and months.

If you think Newcastle's tactics were 'anti football' you probably need to start watching another sport......they were excellent tonight and had us figured out from the kick off.

Couldn't agree more. Someone else compared then to Sheff Utd as well! Who, for what it's worth, will bully us off the pitch if we play like that on Saturday.

Very disappointed with Emery’s post match interview.

Proud of the players and 43 points again. Why not tell it like it was and bloody well get into the players for that performance?

The players need shaken up and a massive boot up the arse for the drop in performance levels over the last five games instead of being complimentary.

Diaby should not start again until end of season then shipped out. Disgusting lack of effort!

I think he has to play instead of Luiz or Kamara though , not with them

Yeah I wonder if Luiz needs to be dropped. He seems to be wandering around contributing very little.

They can be anti football and highly effective. They realised that we struggle to break down teams that sit back so they got 10-11 men behind the ball at all times and defended their box. They then played long to Gordon/ Isak/ Almiron. They lived mostly for dead balls that they made the most of them.

it was Steve Bruce, Tony Pulis tactics very well executed.
