Jareth Posted January 28 Posted January 28 It’s happening in May, we have Olly Alexander representing us, is that cheating? How can we lose?

He’s a megastar in the commercial world, also very gay and very Eurovision - he’s going to have a huge following around Europe. Personally I am glad we are taking this shit seriously. He’s a great show man.

Plenty of already established artists have done it in the past, some multiple times. Johnny Logan even won it twice. ABBA had hits across Europe before 1974. Katrina and the Waves, Lulu, Sandie Shaw all British winners and all established artists before Eurovision 1
sne Posted January 28 Posted January 28 (edited) Bet Sweden wish they didn't have to host it this year. It's a political minefield due to the Isreal situation and all press around it is going to be focused on that. Malmö is also a particularly poor choice in that regard with tons of muslim immigrants so there will be massive protests if Israel are allowed to take part. Terror threat will be high and security will need to be immense. Will be interesting to see if Finland, Iceland and the likes boycott the event. Edited January 28 by sne
sne Posted January 29 Posted January 29 1005 Swedish artists, producers & song writers, famous and not so famous have signed a petition to have Israel thrown out of the Eurovision. Among the more notable names are Robyn, Viagra Boys, Kite, Refused, Kleerup, Christian Kjellvander, Anna Ternheim, First Aid Kit. Also at least 2 names who are competing this year along with some former participants. Hopefully more artist and more countries follow. 1

Anthony Posted March 1 VT Supporter Posted March 1 God it's dull. Years and Years stuff often has an X factor (not the show), whether you like them or not. This is so bland. Also, from a production point of view the bass is WAY too woolly. Horrible.

I actually like this song. But it makes me wonder; you have some rock/metal/blues/jazz groups meeting together, jamming, playing local gigs, real musicians and artists who come up in the scene. The classic rags to riches stories of bands becoming great overtime. How does a band like Windows95man make a name for themselves?! And what is the artistic thought process behind the music? Did a 16 year old Windows95man meet the other dude and thought 'I know what music we should play, let's try it in the local pub'?
