If Spurs win today we are done. Classic Villa this.

Absolutely certain win for Spurs later now.

Spurs will beat Pool today

Fail to win here and Spurs won't need a teamtalk later.

Some classic VT overreactions to simmer over.

It's still in our hands!

Safe to say VT hasn’t been Champions league quality, especially in match threads.

Unlike our team. They’ve been fantastic all season.

If spurs drop points against Burnley then we don’t need anymore points

Theoretically they can creep above us on GD, unlikely but if we lose 3-0 to Liverpool and 2-0 to Palace, and they win 1-0 at City, they’d need to win 4-0 against Sheffield United on the final day. It’s improbable but none of those results would be astonishing.

At least that last 20 minutes show that Liverpool can be got at.

Can we rise to the occasion for one last time this season at Villa park? Players and fans alike . One last big performance . I think we can .

So basically the season rests on Man. City beating Spurs.

That's really not a bad place to be in at all.

Even if Spurs play out of their skins and get a draw (and pretty much hand Arsenal the title) we'd then just need a point on the final day.

We don't even need that unless there's an enormous GD swing

They'll just finish above us on points if that happens.

If Spurs win their last three then we would very likely have to win one of our last two, basically Palace away.

It’s done we are in the CL next year, not a chance do they win all three and make up the goal difference

It really isn't. We could easily lose both our last 2 games

It is down to us either taking a couple more points or Spurs doing something they haven't done for the last 4 games and taking something from a good side, in fact a great side in Man City. I'm loving our chances.

If Spurs get 7 points, they will probably finish fourth. We are unlikely to get anything from our last 2 based upon our last three performances and could easily get minus four or five goal difference. Spurs will batter Burnley and Sheffield so it all comes down to City. If Spurs get at least a point then fourth is likely their’s. That’s why I am so annoyed about today. It was our easiest game and a point would probably have been enough and we just didn’t turn up! Infuriating.

We were one bought dive of a penalty away from getting an underserved point…

that point would’ve meant that Spurs would need to win all of their games..

They could still end on 67 with a draw with Burnley.

And need a 9 goal swing. It isn’t going to happen

If we lose our last two we're down to -18 at least, probably more likely -17. So Spurs would then have to make up six goals so that's probably quite likely given they've got Burnley and Sheffield.

The way I see it is I fully expect Man. City to beat Spurs. No chance they'd switch off when leading like Liverpool have done today. They'll go 2-0 up and then Rodri/Kovacic will make endless tactical fouls to break up play.

If Spurs do get a point v Man. City then we just have to match them with a point v Palace. We do that by low blocking and actually playing more than two central midfielders in a game for first time in about two months.

More lost it v Chelsea if it comes to that. We had 2-0 and reasonable control.

I don't think so. Spurs simply aren't defending well enough currently to put they'll nullify all Man. City's big threats otherwise why are they conceding 3s and 4s pretty much every game currently?

Let's say we lose by a goal to Liverpool and Spurs beat Burnley 2-0 then they draw with City.

The final day means there are 5 goals in it and they win 4-0 against Sheffield United and we lose 1-0 to Palace. Then they get 4th on goals scored.

Those two goals sloppy given away by Liverpool could matter. Could.

Still if you had given us a 3 goal swing and being 7 ahead still at the beginning of the week we'd have taken it.

Those 2 goals might mean a stressful final day though. At 11 goal lead it could have meant a Spurs draw with City wasn't enough

It wouldn’t be that enormous. For it to come down to goal difference, we’d have to lose two games and spurs win two and draw one. If they put four or five past Sheffield United, they will probably beat our goal difference. Liverpool leaking those goals is annoying.
