The game is rotten. Give it a year and there will be an off-season competition in the middle-east where clubs are paid millions just to turn up. It's an interesting situation that needs looking into, but from what I've seen PIF aren't shareholders in Chelsea's parent company. They're large clients of Chelsea's parent company, with the parent company investing their money for them. The PIF also invest with other firms. They can move players around all over the place now and decide out of their stable of clubs who they want to be the best. They could use Newcastle or the state owned Saudi Clubs to buy up the junk at Chelsea to give them another crack at getting back up the table. It’s the perfect middle finger to FFP and a great loophole for distorting the market even further. They could easily immediately loan him out to their pet projects in Newcastle.
