Marka Ragnos Posted April 5, 2023 VT Supporter Share Posted April 5, 2023 (edited) Hard to know where to start, but this is overall my favorite political song. I won’t claim to be very familiar with the political content of the song, but I know it was on a compilation I had of political songs. KentVillan
Knowing what we know now about how many innocent black Americans have been murdered by the police, I think a lot of those 90s hip hop tracks resonate This one is particularly poetic Not so much a fan of the crusty middle class socialism brand of political music, it’s all a bit Sean Penn / Angelina Jolie IMO, but always had a soft spot for Masters of War by Bob Dylan (edit: including the Eddie Vedder version just posted by @VILLAMARV) Edited April 5, 2023 by KentVillan

Wow, really? Love it or hate it, I'd have thought it was one of the most famous songs in world history.

That’s funny, I only know the story superficially, but from what I’ve read, The Undertones (who I like) were criticised by contemporary Northern Irish bands like Stiff Little Fingers (who I like more) for being apolitical.
