A couple of years ago Zaniolo was going to be the new Francesco Totti - the player that Roma built their squad around for the next 10 years or so. Given the flashes of brilliance / genius that he showed it wasn't a particularly fanciful aim. Unfortunately, his injury record is horrific and he has the look now of a player who is going to get injured (almost like the fact that he is worried about getting injured means that he's getting into contact in positions where he is more likely to get injured) and has also struggled to rediscover the form he showed early on. If he is sold I don't think that there will be a meltdown amongst Roma fans - whereas a couple of seasons back it would have been almost heretical to even consider it. IF he stays injury free and regains his confidence he could be one of the very best players around BUT it is a huge risk. Owned by the City Group, but has a €20m buy out clause, so should still be attainable. Has played a lot of senior football already for a 19 year old, converted CB, who looks like he has the physicality to play that RCB role. Good aerial stats, and looks very good on the ball.
