Yeah, and they'll all be playing in the Championship together...  As an American I've seen a lot of the three of them and the only one I rate is Tyler Adams.  McKennie is McGinn with poorer passing, a worse work rate, and without the infectious personality.  Would have been a good signing 2 years ago when we tried for him, but we're in the market for a much better player now under Emery.

The fact that his agent has shopped him so many European clubs says to me he’s not quite as good as he’s made out to be

Luiz Henrique sounds good, Brazilian, young and athletic but he is not that good for the fees being touted like £50m 🤣that’s laughable… £24million  max!

Was listening to a podcast where a very well informed Betis fan was saying he is very raw and currently at best is at Baileys level.  Even 24M seems a bit much for that type of profile.

With these raw youngsters we keep being linked to, it’s like we’re trying to do a Brighton (if any truth in the links) but the numbers quoted are what should be paid for far more proven players. Is £24 mil really what should be paid for potential these days?

I thought he was...  Basically 21 of their 23 man squad was included in this.

The report I am reading seems to suggest that the 23 players under investigation are: Bentancur, Bernardeschi, Bonucci, Buffon, Chiellini, Cuadrado, Da Silva, De Ligt, De Scoglio, Demiral, Douglas Costa, Dybala, Higuain, Khedira, Lobo Silva, Matuidi, Pjanic, Rabiot, Ramsey, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rugani, Szczesny and Sarri.  However, given that it appears likely that the investigations are only going to expand I would definitely be giving anyone who has played at Juve in the last 2 or 3 seasons a wide berth.

Read Greggs article. Basically says we won't be signing anyone else this window if it's not right and as seen by waiting for Kamara last year the club are prepared to wait again.

It seems Emery is focussed on an experienced Striker and dedicated Winger. Also said Guendouzi isn't close at all despite reports.

Overall seemed to be implying good chance of nobody joining this window and waiting for Summer.

"Kang In Lee is unhappy with the sports management of Mallorca. The South Korean does not understand that the club has refused to listen to offers for him when the player has two important proposals. The club has informed him that it will NOT facilitate an exit in January."

Fair play to Mallorca. He's their player and it's the middle of the season.

Stopped reading the article after it said by Gregg Evans…poor guy seems so out of the loop over the years.

Evans is massively hedging bets

Yeah agree. Basically saying we're looking to close the deals this window but are happy to leave the squad light ala last year and wait for summer for right targets.

It feels as though the likes of Brighton and Brentford pay a lot less for potential.

Yeah that’s point I guess. They do the whole moneyball thing and make massive profits. If a transfer doesn’t work out they haven’t lost huge sums (comparatively). Whereas if we buy up and coming talent for 25 mil and he flops that’s a bit of a disaster.
Obviously this is all just speculative as I don’t know whether we are in for these players and for how much.

Brighton like to sign players from more unknown leagues. Think Polish league, Czech league, Japanese league etc.

La liga isn't an unknown league. The MLS isn't either, you could argue its about the same level as the Championship. If you have a young player already performing in these leagues, chances are they're on many scouts shortlists and will cost some money.

Auba - absolute not

Ziyech - absolutely yes but why would he leave chelsea when hes still actively playing for them, not like hes been frozen out

With regards to making no signings that would be madness imo. We wont make Europe this year but we need to kick on from this honey moon period we are currently in. No way we keep up this win rate unless we freshen up the squad.

They have different goals to us. They aim to stay in the league and are happy with that. The odd over performance and potentially getting Europe a bonus. But they are dedicated to development of players who they then sell on. With that comes variations in their squad performance up and down.

We on the other hand want to build a squad and keep them to compete at a high level. The jump Arsenal have made in performance shows what can be achieved. From 5th to leading the league at halfway. Newcastle jump to competition for CL places. Those big jumps are what we aim for.

Auba is possibly the worst signing we could make IMO he's finished and on top of that seems a bit of a changing room cancer

He also cant play for another team until next season. Why he is begging Barcelona to take him back
