MaVilla
thought he did well tonight, surprised that he's actually 21....... tbh i would take him as Targetts backup over Taylor from what i have seen.

useless
I was half expecting us to release him last summer with his age, after Purslow's comments about players in their twenties playing for our U23s, I think he recently had a bad injury as well. So good to see that he's impressing.
Sulberto21
Excellent performance tonight. Get him in on the first team training pitch.
lexicon
Well then - looks like we found our replacement for Taylor
OutByEaster? Posted January 9, 2021 Moderator Share Posted January 9, 2021 I think his injury may have saved him from being released, but in fairness, since he's come back, he's been a much better player. Sometimes a club and player get lucky on timing, maybe this is one of those times. He was excellent today against very, very good opponents.
Adam2003
I thought he was excellent today. Solid defensively for the most part and a lovely pass for the goal. I’m not saying I’d be happy with him as first choice left back for the season but I’d be happy with him in the squad.

bose
So to those who know better - is it a realistic possibility that this guy could become our back up LB? Know nothing about him other than he was injured, has come back and played well yesterday. Brilliant pass for the goal.
useless
Last night's performance alone may help he, Bridge and Revan getter better loan moves than they might otherwise have done without it, could be a game changing match in terms of their careers. MaVilla
Off to Hereford on Loan, 21 years old and going National League North?? (5th tier?)

Same with Revan - unless he absolutely bosses it, it's unlikely we'll ever see him in a Villa shirt again. Good luck to them both.

useless
He's not even first choice for our U23s, in fact Chrisene and Seb Revan are probably both ahead of him now for the left back spot, and Chrisene isn't even a specialist left back. To be fair to Rowe he was out injured for a year, think his appearance in the FA Cup might have been only his second or third appearance since coming back from that injury. Don't think it should be too much of a surprise the level of club that he's been loaned out to, no different to what happened with the likes of Lewis Brunt, Jake Walker, and Jack Birch last season. In 2019 Šarkić had loan spells with Stratford Town and Havant & Waterlooville, and ended up doing well enough to get a loan to Scottish Premier league side, an international cap, then a permanent move to Wolves, and is now getting regular game time for Shrewsbury.
KenjiOgiwara
Going out there and getting first team football is a big deal methinks. Best of luck to him. Lots of footballers have worked their way up the divisions. Can't remember the name of that Villa fan playing winger at Forest, but he is just one example I guess. Fairy In Boots
Shocks me the arrogance on here, we brought 2 players from the Championship and they’ve massively improved us. They had 0 PL experience. More important is game time for these lads

More important is game time for these lads this. football is still football irrespectable of the quality. obviously it benefits playing against good opposition since you learn more. however, the gap in quality should be pretty close to the current level a player is at otherwise it proves too difficult and you wouldn't learn as much. but as you say, play games and play many games and that's the best approach.
