I was supposed to be going to my Mum and Dad's after picking my little girl up at 1pm. Have been feeling unwell for a few days (asthmatic and have been short of breath when I move about), so decided that I wasn't going to risk anything and got a covid test.......knowing that there were 4 outcomes (positive, negative, inconclusive or no response in time) and 3 of them would see me on my own for the big day. Anyhow, 3 days later (supposed to get the result next day) and no result so I've been at home on my own and watched my little one open her presents via Whatsapp. They did pop me around some dinner, but I am gutted. She is 7 next month and this is one of the last years it will be so special and exciting for her. Heartbroken and that is without the heap of trouble I am going to be in if I have covid. Edit: Sorry, this isn’t supposed to be a post chasing sympathy. It is as it is! Hope you are all having a great day and an even better one tomorrow. Finally got my covid test result this morning (into day 6).....negative!

dubbs
The gf and I are waiting for our results at the moment. She had a test boxing day, mine was yesterday. Feel like crap but I think it's more likely a heavy cold than anything more serious. Here's hoping anyway!!

Popular Post trekka Posted December 28, 2020 VT Supporter Popular Post Share Posted December 28, 2020 (edited) I'm sorry that I didn't wish you all a Merry Christmas before the big day. I finally had the courage to drive up to the folks on Christmas Eve (although they my "bubble", I'm in a Tier 4 area and wanted to take all of the precautions I could). We had a marvellous time and I'm so glad I did the journey. I actually wore a mask pretty much for the whole of the time (except for when my old man got me drunk, or when eating food). I got called a "daft sod" for continually wanting to wear one but I wanted to be comfortable in myself around my elderly folks. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas (well as lovely as can be). You're not a bad lot Edited December 28, 2020 by trekka Typo :)
Popular Post dubbs
Well both our tests came back positive. Perfect end to a perfect year! The NHS app makes life a bit confusing. The email says isolate from the day after symptoms began for 10 days, which for us was the 24th. When I enter the results in the app it tells me to isolate for 11 days from today! UTV!

The whole thing is confusing, when I had my test they handed me the bag and kept coming to my window to hassle me because I'd taken 2 minutes as I was ensuring I'd fully read and understood the instructions. This after the chap who gave me the package getting all shirty because I asked a question....with my mask on....through my 1 inch opened window. dubbs
Thank you everyone for your offers of help. I think we're doing OK for now. Just hope to see signs of improvement soon because our breathing is difficult as soon as you start moving around. Wierdly I started thinking about how the dogs will get exercised over the next week or so, and I help my dad out a lot with shopping and stuff which obviously I can't do now! Bloody Covid!! It's Your Round
Christmas is over. The decorations came down this morning, leaving behind cold empty spaces that suggest decorating will be on the horizon soon. I was in favour of keeping the lights up another month, the reasoning being that if people can talk about Christmas in October then why can’t I carry on into January. I liked the lights, they were pretty
sidcow Posted January 9, 2021 VT Supporter Share Posted January 9, 2021 Went to the chippy tonight. First time I've been out for days. I couldn't believe how many houses still had their lights on. One even had the Christmas Tree up in the bay window still.

Mandy Lifeboats
The couple living opposite me are an A&E nurse and an A&E doctor. Their Christmas lights are still up. Lazy.
