dudevillaisnice
Rory Hale has also been training with the first team. Seems Sherwood is really taking a close look at them all.

Stevo985 Posted March 11, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted March 11, 2015 CIES Football Observatory have published figures showing the most profitable football academies (the top 20 anyway) by money earned from selling homegrown players. We didn't make the list. Southampton were top. United, Everton and Swansea were the other English teams on the list.
dudevillaisnice
Interesting, Have you got a link to that list?
Stevo985 Posted March 11, 2015 VT Supporter Share Posted March 11, 2015 Click Me Figures are only since July 1012 to be fair. I don't think it's anything worth basing any serious conclusions on. Semi-interesting I guess

Jonoridge91
Just watched the Villa U21's game on AVTV. Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, Kevin Toner and Jerell Sellars look really good imo. Toner is the captain and a centre back, reminds me of a young Ciaran Clark actually. Senderos played today and honesty Toner looked a lot better than him (could be fitness but still) would like see Toner on the bench with Baker and Clark out. HanoiVillan
A story in the Mail a few weeks ago claimed that Toner's contract is up at the end of the season and he might not re-sign: "A host of clubs are tracking Aston Villa’s young central defender Kevin Toner as his contract nears its end. Norwich, Leicester, Newcastle and Stoke have watched Toner, one of Villa’s most promising young players who captains their Under-21 team aged just 18. His current deal runs out this summer and Villa, keen to keep their best academy graduates, have made an offer of fresh terms. But it is understood other clubs are ready to declare their hands and Villa risk losing him." Dunno whether that makes him more or less likely to make the bench. Apparently he's also been training with the first team.

sir_gary_cahill
Quite a few academy players have been released today including: craig hill, ryan strain, isaac nehemie, alfie crooks, courtney wildin, harry lewis, dylan forth, graham burke, harry lewis, daniel o'brien, thomas strain, as always it's sad to see them go but some will still have good careers in the game Edited June 8, 2015 by sir_gary_cahill
